From the Road Nazi ride I know faster riders are out there--I just hardly ever see them riding solo.

I've wondered where they hide.

It's maybe 78 here.

you forgot about the 20 year age difference, 80 or so lbs, the 26 years of smoking. Jeez, thanks Kidd. now I feel like if I can just stay upright on the bike as he passes me I am actually winning. How do you attach clipless pedals to a walker?

To the pro-platform pedal crowd that says that you're not really doing any work on the upstroke with clipless shoes/pedals, my goddamn sore hamstrings disagree with you.

No doubt you do some work on the upstroke, but I wouldn't read too much into your muscle soreness. Just altering your pedal stroke motion a little could account for a lot of that.

There's no point scoring on BF! Nothing to esplain. It is what it is, which is whatever you make of it, or don't.*

The proof is out there on the road - You see him all the time, the roadie who passes you effortlessly no matter if the road is flat or positively angled. He's not only fast, but looks good doing it, and never seems as though much effort is being expended. It just seems so impossible to achieve that level of cycling performance. I guess he is upset that I didnt say hello as I effortlessly rode past him. Did you expect me to wave?

Yes, that would have been nice. You hurt my feelings.

Lesson learned: I need to upgrade my bike.

What KiddSisko should explain is why he writes a cycling narrative based on his experience in fringe California rather than what real cycling is like in the American Heartland.

I'm doing lots of work, damnit! Don't rain on my parade! Did I mention the 1093 watt peak on the easy ride?! Just wait 'til I start properly training - rue, you will... all of you... [/pcad]

I'm older than 90% of you Freds and I would pwn 98% of you on the road.

Don't you need to make your bed, or something?

Velo Vol 07-08-10 04:12 PM

I thought about another group ride this evening, but the combination of sleep deficiency + 98F leads me to think a wussy 20 miler might be more suitable.
