But this driving 120 miles round trip and getting up @ 3:45AM to wind up as pack fodder on a good day, can't handle it anymore. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I like the TTs, I love the Nyack Ride, like riding fast, want to stay in shape, but I don't do this to race, never did, even when I was a bit faster in my distant youth.

I can't stand group rides with Freds anyway. Too annoying. I really don't want to friggin chit chat, I just want to hammer on some fast wheels, and if I'm not hammering I want to ride alone. Hey, I've done it for 19 years. Works for me. Work for somebody? It should become apparent that if I think everyone is a total idiot, that included my former bosses. I'm better off being the hammer than the nail. But my employees stay with me, one full timer for 9 years now and my part timer for 10+.

So yes, there are pressures, but compared to having a real job, it totally rocks. Hey, I've ridden my road bike 12,000 miles annually since 2005. Couldn't do that with a real job.
