As I posted at the time:
They aren't as big as the mountains between here and North Carolina.
Note: As for the gradients of the climbs É. The mountains increase in difficulty. Suck Creek is long and gentle - around 5 miles at a 4-6% grade. Sand is shorter and slightly steeper - 2.5 miles at a 6-7% grade, with steeper switchbacks. Lookout is by far the steepest - 2.3 miles at a 8-10% grade with a 16-18% grade at the top.

6 more days till I can ride. sucks. The worst part is I am working in Portland Or. surrounded by bikes. I saw a Litespeed some idiot had converted to fixed, and a beautiful Bianchi, similarly mutilated, with a little lady pushing it up a hill. Oh, the humanity!

I have a ride that I do. It's 20 miles exactly. It's mostly flat except for 3 valleys. So, out and back, I get 6 hills. The worst hill is the one I turn around at after I climb it. It's .4 miles at 10%. The rest are all about 7%. Gives me about 1300 feet of climbing. That's enough to make me take a nap when I'm done.
