We got more. 30-32". Parts of Ulster County (just north of here) got up to 48". Hunter Mountain (Catskills) has gotten 68" in five days.

Yeah, but they didn't mention Chester down here.
Only Binghamtom.

Seriously, it looks like a real mess up there. I have an open ended stay here in Fla, if I didn't hate it down here so much, I might consider staying until April.
But NASCAR and pig farming aren't my favorite topics of discussion when sitting at the bar eating dinner at the local Applebees.

Beautiful view P...

Correct. I doubt I get the local bike path back for 60 days.

RacerOne 02-27-10 06:11 AM

That's a lot of snow right there.

Grumpy McTrumpy 02-27-10 06:40 AM

we got more last night. Maybe I'll take a pic

patentcad 02-27-10 07:16 AM

If we do get more snow, there's nowhere to put it.

Terex 02-27-10 08:32 AM

It missed us here in Central NJ. Princeton area got maybe 6-7", and bright sun and almost 40F temp in the afternoon helped road crews get most roads down to dry blacktop. Overcast and flurries right now, but should get close to 40 again today. I'll be out tomorrow or Monday, latest. 40's the rest of the week. :)

Kai Winters 02-27-10 08:37 AM

Seems there's plenty of room in your driveway...I can hear the DPW trucks arriving now...

patentcad 02-27-10 08:42 AM

The DPW doesn't come up here.

So yeah, we're buried in snow. Now I'm also starting to get buried in work. The economy may still suck for much of the world, but it is coming back out there, believe it or not. I can clearly see it in our business, which deals with entities from Honeywell and IBM to tiny start up companies and individual inventors. Jobs will follow. Not enough jobs, but some employment is better than no employment.

We are the canary in the coal mine. If we slow down, watch out. When companies cut back on filing patents, that's a grim sign for a number of reasons. Conversely, when we pick up, things will eventually improve. That has been my observation through nearly 20 years of this and 3 recessions (we started coming out of a recession in 1991).

Pray for above freezing weather for the next month or so, the worst is when those mounds become mini glaciers. This has been the first winter I've considered getting 25's with some tread and given the fact we'll have melting snow for a while to come some fenders may be good to get. <<sigh>>

I am going to hit the trainer this morning. Pcad it sounds like a lot of power outages in your area, you are lucky.

patentcad 02-27-10 09:22 AM

Our friends from the next town are staying at the local Holiday Inn (no power), and probably with us tonight.

patentcad 02-27-10 09:54 AM

Temps just hit 50º here, partly sunny. It's softening up, that really helps. Most of the deck is shoveled too.

patentcad 02-27-10 02:37 PM

50 miles today, partly sunny temps in the mid 40's, roads are very clear. Nice day.

Grumpy McTrumpy 02-27-10 02:50 PM

did you drive to the ride?

conditions here are still not rideable.

I was able to ride from my driveway, solo ride, not a group ride. It's rideable here. It really got warm today, didn't expect that 40-45º and partly sunny, actually said 50 on my yard thermometer at about noon today. The roads melted off very nicely.

Would it hurt you to take pics on such rides?

Do you have a bike with fenders?
