You're in Nutley. It was safe to take the snow tires off your car in November.

not so fast on the snow tires - I'd suggest at least a couple more weeks as they will perform better than all season/summer tires on the dry/wet roads when the temps dip down in the 30's in the evenings and mornings. Keep them on until Easter is the general rule of thumb.

Amen to that. I was expecting low to mid 40s for this period but mid 50s is ideal for me.

I'm taking ours off soon. Even if you get a storm this time of year, the roads aren't icy. It's icy roads that are hard to drive on, unless you're actually out in the worst part of the storm.

All I know is this is lowering my heating bill.

skol 03-11-10 03:08 PM

truthfully mine are coming off this weekend as well - but I am in the tire biz so felt a obligation to toe the company line

Long Legs, Short Torso. No other options without going to a custom.

I would knee myself in the chest if I didn't have them.

This thread will be like Al Sharpton and cockroaches, one of the few things that will survive the apocalypse. Although I'm starting to think Dick Cheney might make it too.

Don't be correcting gsteinb, he knows everything. Hey, my 16 year old daughter does too. That must come in handy.

BITSA 03-12-10 12:59 PM

Don't all 16 year olds know everything!

Apparently. And some Road Nazis too.

By the way, nobody cares what I think, which makes this thread all the more aggravating.

The Ibis chain snapped at the top of the driveway. New chain time. Better at the top of the driveway than 20 miles from bumfark nowwhere, which is where I was riding today.
