I only have one water bottle. It's from some event I did ages ago. I had more, but I pitched them out the last time I moved. I'm not sure how this one survived.

is it a coincidence or what? a pair of water bottle from the local water company is so badly made it leaks as i drink and dribbles down my front. They also suffer from a high leakage rate from their water pipes.

Anyway, unless I'm mistaken, the reason my brake is sticking is because the hinges underneath the shift lever are rusty. Is there anything I can do about that?

spray it with spray lube until it drips clear.

I've done nine or ten centuries and only gotten one or two bottles. I could actually use some more as mine look horrible.

ok i'll admit it. i took a bag and loaded up with whatever freebies were going. I've got like 10 gels, 15 energy drink powder sachets, 5 cliff bars, 8 shock blocs, 4 recovery bars, and water bottles, allen keys. This doesn't make me look good does it?

You're my hero.

I can't believe this stupid thread had deteriorated into a discussion about water bottles.

More people do this than will admit it. But, allen keys? Really, who was giving those away? I've not seen that one before.

I hope that helps. Is this a common fate? I haven't even changed my bottom bracket yet. Why should my STIs be rusted?

My next question was going to be, should I get black bottle holders and red bottles, or red bottle holders and black bottles? Maybe I'll start a new thread to ask.

never happened to me before but i read about that spray lube thing somewhere. maybe it was sheldon brown. i cleaned mt rear derailleur like that and the amount of crud that comes out is astonishing.

you ride in high humidity, no? i bet you also drip a lot of sweat onto your front end. i dripped onto my stem today and by the time i got home there was a crusty layer on it. salt. if i needed to ward off bonking, i would have licked my stem.

well it is cycling related. Were you out in Harriman today? Mcjimbosandwich might have had a pcad sighting. I was going to head out with him after our group made it to Conklin but went back with the group instead.

I blame coasting and Gomer for everything.

My water bottles used to be "clear" but now they are black.

You should make it a poll.

I was coming through Harriman park by Kanawauke Circle @ about 11:45AM on the ride back from doing the Nyack Ride. I left my house @ 5:30AM and rode to Nyack, did the ride, stuck with them up to 9W, then turned north to come back. 114 mles. So when Mc saw me, I was really hurting, that last 25 miles was quite the death march. Probably the hardest ride this year.

I can do 100 miles in a day or do the Nyack Ride, doing both is a bit much. But it worked out today.

I think that would be fun. Except I'd probably get flamed out of my mind.

you'll love it. that's part of the BF exprience. i still remember my first "use the search function". I knew I had found my e-home.

patentcad 08-01-10 01:28 PM

Oh yes, I'm rolling through Nyack @ 8AM, and I bomb a red light. A cop pulls me over. I'm all apologetic. He sits in his car, and I figure he's going to write me a ticket. So I look over there and he's reading this traffic law manual. Then he comes out and says he's going to let me off with a warning.

I think the problem was he couldn't quite figure out how to write a traffic summons to a cyclist. He seemed peeved that I had no ID on me. I shrugged. Gave him my name and address and he found me on the computer. Anyway, no ticket today.

I think that is a whole different sub forum.

I put sport top poland spring water bottles in mine. So, I am most definitely not the one to answer your question.
