Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sadly, the paint is chipping around the welds of my bottom bracket. Bare magnesium underneath. Excellent.

It does, however, give me an excuse to take it to Spectrum Powder Works in C-Springs. Custom paint job? Could be interesting.

You have over 500 posts in what, less than two weeks?

Not sure what to think about that. Suggestions?

Work is slow. I've also been spending some time in the hospital with a friend in the evenings, with only my iPad to keep me company. Sigh.

Well I hope your friend is going to be OK, that sucks. I was riding my bike and some dogs were running parallel to me across the road. One ran into the road and got hit by a oncoming car. It actually got pierced by the tow hooks on the blazer, and we had to pull it off the hook while it was alive. I did my best to comfort it, but it ended up dieing in my arms. Kinda sad and I guess I was there at the wrong time. The owner showed up and starting crying. I guess the dog chewed through their fence.

Thank you.

That's a sad story, but cheers to you for comforting him in his last moments.

This is a horrible story.

Thanks for sharing. It's a little more than "kinda sad."

Yeah it was freaky because the lady that hit the dog must have dragged it about 100 yards wondering where it was. She should have just stopped in her tracks, but oh well, at least she did eventually stop. There was also this redneck that was with me and the dog. When the cop got there he thought it was best to talk back to the cop. So the cop said um "leave or im going to arrest you". He left, so there i was holding compression on the wound, in my team kit.

What's your longest ride? Truthfully, not BF BS.

I can't believe, over distance, it is comfortable to wear underwear with your cycling shorts.

Miles? 52 in one trip. Why are you still harping on me about my underwear?

No Heathrow? Despite pcad's many attempts, you appeared appropriately noncommittal.

I meant it in the nicest way possible. You're getting a Big Girl bike. Just trying to help maintain the Big Girl bike image in a internet stranger, elitist BF ahole kind of way.

How's the prowling going? Any luck?
