I don't doubt that this will end up being another product that fills a need we never thought we had before, but I just don't see how it would be practical for me which is why I haven't been interested in it yet. It's larger than I want a mobile device to be and I don't do nor have the desire to access the web when I'm on the go, which I can do with my smart phone. I love Apple products but this one didn't catch my attention.

You'll see. You'll all see.

Naahhh I don't think so in this case; I'll probably get the iTouch when my iPod dies though the way I take care of things that might be a looong time from now.

I disagree. I don't think the world quite gets it yet, but they will, and soon. I am convinced most of the western world will have devices like this in their homes/offices within a few years.

Anything implanted in a bike weenie's brain could pose an unacceptable impedance to Bike Schwag Focus and Procurement.

The whole not supporting flash thing kinda sucks. I think they don't want people going to hulu and other cool sites where they can watch shows and movies. They would rather take more of your money through itunes. Everything is a big giant funnel to the itunes store.

No. They want to encourage actual web standards that don't suck.
That is debatable but Flash is a big part of the internet weather Apple likes it or not and Apple and adobe should consider this a pretty big problem. |

Flash is an obsolete, proprietary, non-standard that breaks search. Like IE6-only web sites, it can't go away fast enough.

IE6? Really? Whatever, I am not debating weather or not Flash sucks. All I am saying is that ignoring it leaves giant holes in the web.

I like to debate weather.
On the original topic, i think that thin clients are actually the future of the computer world.... |

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...ScottSide1.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...cottweight.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...drivetrain.jpg 16 lbs 10oz with cages, computer, pedals. That's with Ultegra, stock wheels. The Dura Ace 7850 wheels with the D.A. cluster I ordered should be here eventually (however long it takes to arrive from the UK), that will reduce the weight by another 200 grams, so with the D.A. clinchers this bike will weigh about 16 lbs. 3oz with Ultegra. With the Zipp tubuars this bike will be in the md 15's. An upgrade to D.A. 7900 would shave another 250 grams or so, bringing the bike down into the 15.5 lb. range with clinchers. Actually, this frame is not much lighter than the S2, which does sort of underscore my feeing that the S2 is actually lighter than advertised (I'm guessing the S2 is closer to 1000 grams than 1100). The bike felt great doing laps around Piermont Bicycle Connection (indoors on their carpet utilizing my mad Pcad bike handling skills). I'll drag it out for Nyack tomorrow for a test flight. |

You know for all the negative reviews that slothy was attributing to this bicycle, I've only found one, all the others are quite positive. Not for the recreational rider, but if you like a stiff racing bike, it's great. And I do. |
You all covet my slick new Avatar, don't you?

I want an iPad handlebar mount. I want to watch HD movies when I ride.

*snip* I sort of disliked it at first (very stiff, beats you up a bit on the chip/seal rough road surfaces we sometimes have up here) but now I really do love the bike. You really start to appreciate it when you've had it out on a competitive ride. It really does transfer every bit of energy to the rear cassette*snip*

It was worth it. I hate a mushy bike. I'd rather be forced to eat mushy food. |
