Yes, I wrote the telemetry display app in my video. There are a few ways to sync both ride and telemetry videos. You can use the time but this assumes your GPS and the camera time are more or less synced. You can try and press the lap button and the on switch of the camera at the same time and sync from there. In my case I just use the compass. This means I fast forward to an area where there is a turn on the ride (which means the telemetry compass will also be turning) and that is where I sync.

Forza,

Not sure if you have tried it out, but DashWare has a new gauge type similar to elevation map. Also I think you can make something similar to the elevation gauge, or we (DashWare) can probably make one for you.

Question from someone that does not use youtube much. Once you upload a video, how long does it take for them to process it? I did my first one, not cycling related, that is about 1:30 long, but 20 min later it still says that it is under processing.

cyclocommuter 01-16-11 07:44 PM

It takes anywhere from 1 to 3 hours for YouTube to process a 10 to 15 minute video after it has been uploaded. If you are unlucky, the sound may be muted because of copyright restriction issues.

Group/Team ride yesterday...The group consists of some former continental based pros, Cat 1/2s, and a National Cross Champion...some good riders. Just out having fun and riding hard, with a good descent at the end that I hadn't been on before, so I took the conservative plan..low 40's, etc. total ride was just over 55 miles. :)

A psychedelic 'trip' around Long Beach, CA.
Enjoy! Jonathan

Interesting viewpoint. :) Seems so alien to me. Digging the love at 2:06!

My video montage from the last two days...Jonathan, no offense in the first seconds of mine. :)

Trimming for the race season coming up...Hit some rollers, couple 500 ft climbs, some descents...Bringing the speed up and the HR down. T-Minus 3 weeks.

Little video from the last two days...shows what I described up above, includes the cyclists' favorite Mercer Island loop in the second half and its "twistie-turnie" section + descents. I forgot to charge my camera battery and it died before I rolled up on a Bissell rider. Would have liked to have that on film :)

I'm glad summer is almost here, and this thread is actually being updated again. :)

Also a fan of raw video. Here's my current YouTube collection. A couple are in 720p. Getting into the dual ContourHD thing lately. I try to add them weekly but been having technical difficulties. Vibration and battery disengaging is a problem but I'll figure it out. Enjoy.

Where do you mount the rear facing Contour? I've been unsuccessful in finding a suitable spot for the camera.

I cut up a Fizik ICS bag and J-Welded the Contour flat mount to it. Here's a pic that has the flat filed down base of my GoPro mount under it. The Contour mount alone would work.

Problem with this is the vibration is bad on the open road and shook the two plastic contour mount pieces apart so I had to J-Weld that to.

I used to have an ICS compatible saddle but not anymore. I think a tiny saddle bag with a hole in it may be the answer. Thanks.

I used to have issues with battery disengagement on the contour. My solution was to wedge the battery in place with a shim of folded paper at the bottom. I've had no trouble since, despite many a bumpy race.

It's fun to see new activity on this thread. Thanks all for sharing! Here are some of my recent vids:

Thanks for posting those:thumb: I enjoy watching your videos:)

I used to have battery problems with my Casio EX-S12 when that was my primary ride camera. I cleaned off the battery terminals with a Q-tip and that solved it. Since then I inspect the terminals periodically because they get dirty just from being carried around in the camera case. I carry 4 extra batteries. I have to clean them about once a month or so. Even the memory card contacts caused a problem when they got dirty. I ended up with lockups and corrupted files until I cleaned the contacts.

My current ride camera (Kodak Playsport) hasn't had that problem yet. I still inspect the spare battery terminals though, as they get dusty from being carried around in the case too.

Thanks for the tips. I'm trying clipped end of a cable tie. So far so good. Cheers

I love these videos. I'm especially interested in the race crash videos. As someone who doesn't like crashing, I was wondering if you guys could post any crash videos and your input re: causes/lessons learned so us newbies/rookies don't have to learn the hard way! (hold your line, and always be attentive for that crash vid above!!) Thanks!

Hi archimeaties I did notice that your videos do not have that awful rolling shutter effect. Are you using camera with global shutter (if yes I'd like to know which one) or you have some special mount?
