Hopefully they won't put music over the entire video either. It would be nice to hear the race sounds instead;)
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-cycling-video Why don't we just keep this thread "on-track", freighttrain. ;) |

Hi archimeaties I did notice that your videos do not have that awful rolling shutter effect. Are you using camera with global shutter (if yes I'd like to know which one) or you have some special mount?
Here's an early video shot with the same camera, but before I had good vibration control: |
[QUOTE=Makel;12647570]Hey, archimeaties check out 4:35, ;)

Let me bring this thread back down to kid territory ;)

^-- in the original video I mixed the audio with the actual live track, but it was pretty much just wind so I took it out....sorry about my taste in music, but you can always mute it and just hyperventilate on yer own ;)

Hopefully my Vimeo account will do the trick.

It's mostly an adventure/vacation highlight video, but there's some excellent cycling shots in here. Shot, edited and uploaded by a riding pal of mine.

I figured this is the best place for this.
I got a Contour on Amazon on sale. This is my second attempt at a video. The first I had the video oriented upside down and didnt realized it. Also a 2GB card is good for about 1/2 hour of standard video. dont know about the battery life of the camera. This is my bike without the power meter so no data and I don't have the software anyways Port of Oakland from this week. Weekly hammerfest training ride at the wonderful Port of Oakland. 6:30 to 8PM tuesdays |

Keep in mind that 720p@60fps will take up more space than 1080p @ 30fps, by virtue of the double data. But, IMO it makes all the difference in playback smoothness...You can expect the battery (fully charged) to last about two hours as well... Some footage from some recent races.. nice video! How fast were you guys going at around 1:30 (save10)

Here are some fun ones.
Descent of Col de Vars (towards Guillestre): Descent of Stelvio (towards Prato): |
Thanks. I filmed it in Sonoma County, CA. The roads are Meyer's Grade, Fort Ross Rd, and Hwy 1. Lots of pretty views and hard riding around here.

Here is a video I made a few months ago. The amount of time it took for me to make it has led me to reconsider video editing as a hobby.

My last few have been quick efforts, 5-10 hours each (not including the data transfer/conversions, esp the initial import, which typically takes a couple hours). The most time consuming ones were 25 hours and I think one was in the 40 hour realm. I need a lot of uninterrupted time with the Mac and its external drive. I'll go to the office/desk at 8 PM plan on spending a few hours editing and it'll be 2 AM before I realize what time it is (and only because the Missus has walked over to see why I'm not in bed). Ultimately I guess it's like doing a century or bike racing or stuff like that - the folks that don't do it can't possibly understand, and those that do do it realize that it's both arduous but possible. |
<chiming in> Love this thread. <chiming out>
