$1000 for a 10 3 is such a damn steal, though.

You are right that is the pic I got off of Craigslist . I have not taken any new pic's . Still have not figured out how to work my new laptop .lol

Are there any diff between the 2011 and 2012 CAAD10 models?

Hi all, Im getting fitted for and picking up my new black 2012 CAAD 8-6 tomorrow at my LBS (Cycle Craft, Parsippany, NJ. Great shop and service BTW).

Besides a water bottle holder and a cheapo speedo/odometer, Im going with clip on pedals.

Since Im a novice to a road bike with options of this level/quality what pedal/shoe combo what do you recommend? Also regarding shoes, I normally wear an 11 wide is this a factor in cycle shoes? Also, is a clipless pedal and a clip on shoe the same thing? Ive been really busy educating myself as much as possible regarding everything about the bike including clean, maintainence, shoes, pedals, shifting etc etc including internet, video and talking w/friends who are fairly experienced in owning pro bikes and accessories.

Cost is a factor and ease of use/safety certainly is...thanks.

Damn, I thought my 10-5 for $900 was a steal. $1k for a 10-3 is robbery.

One difference in the 2011 vs 2012 Caad 10 4 Rival is that in the 2011 its priced 200 less and gives you a Force Crank, the 2012 is 200 higher and only gives you a Rival crank. However the 2012 does come in the Raw aluminum, which is so sexy

Looking fresh EvenKeel! You need some more practice wrapping bars though!:p Well..on second thought, they look pretty good except for the ends where they are taped.

Better now?

Went for a quick ride yesterday for about 20 miles. My feet were killing me as I need to break in my sidi shoes. I got some heat molded insoles to help. I love this bike! First road bike and it's so smooth and fast. When not stopped at lights I was averaging around 22-24mph. Need to work on cadence and pace so I can ride longer rides.

So far I removed all stickers from the frame and wheels. Added a Lezyne Superdrive light, PB Superflash Turbo, Look Keo 2 MAX pedals, Garmin 310XT, Wahoo Speed/cadence, and Lezyne Small bag with a micro tool/tube/CO2.

Quick pick I just took:

My caad9 has come a long way. Recently passed 15k on it. Its all dressed up for it's first races of the year tomorrow; can't wait. I went with a quarq instead of a new bike. Figured I'd be faster with a powermeter than with a lighter/aero bike. Will go with red shifters and force derailers in the future.

15.98lb as photoed, dam quarq is a heffer. Goes well with my red and black team kit.

Couldn't resist upgrading to 6700. Been meaning to invest in a 10 speed group for a while.

I debated a bunch before getting them...expense..will I actually feel anything from them? etc. i've had them about 2 months and I'm sold on them. They roll so nice, super stiff, responsive and people can tell you placebo all day long, but roll speed is better and my speed on my 2 favorite decents is up. Are they worth they worth the $$?. For me, yes.

Just picked this up today for my son, this is his second C'Dale the last one was a system 6-13. He loves this new Caad.

He's a lucky kid. Or did he have to work for it?

Hey all - some really great looking bikes in this thread! I'm looking to buy a CAAD 10 but have a bit of a sizing dilemma. I'm 6ft 2 inches/188-189cm and have tested a 60cm CAAD10 and a 58cm CAAD8, the CAAD 8 felt comfier so I'm leaning towards ordering a 58cm CAAD 10.

However, there was quite a lot of seatpost showing, quite a few spacers under the stem and I know the CAAD 8 has a slightly taller headtube than the CAAD 10. Would the 58cm or 60cm CAAD 10 be the wiser choice/more flexible in terms of 'fine tuning' position wise? I've attached pictures of the bikes as tested

Thank you very much for your time!

That's Awesome! I just got the same bike and got the same liquigas kit from the nashbar sale. It looks awesome together. Lime green and blue is a sick combo. Did you order him a Rudy helmet yet? I have a white Lazer genesis.

Also the blue cages look great. I was thinking about going white with white bottles or the liquigas lime green bottles.

Fixed your images.

I am 6'1" and wear pants around 33" inseam. Not sure of my true inseam. Anyways I was just fit to the 58cm CAAD10-5 you have pictured. I have rode about 30 miles this first weekend with it and it feels really good. Very happy with the bike. I'm not sure of your body dimensions but it seems like a 58 would be good for you too. Only thing I have to change for now besides adding a garmin and speed/cadence is going tubeless. I ordered the Stans no tubes hutchinson fusion 3 tubeless kit. Once my wheels go out of true I will consider getting some Boyd vitesse wheels.

DanSto 03-12-12 05:27 PM

Thank you very much for fixing the photos - I wear 34 inseam trousers, i think most of my height is in my legs. I'm leaning towards the 58 ( i can get a much better deal for it) but I'm worried about having only tried the caad 8 and with so much seatpost showing - with the caad 10 would there be an even greater saddle to bar drop. Would a longer top tube be of benefit only if I had a longer torso?

I'm ~5'11" w/34 inseam. I've got the size 58. Seems like a very good fit for me. For you, I think 58 would be the minimum, with possibly a longer stem if you need it. Or, try a 60 if you can.

Figured I'd ask here since its a popular thread and I love CAADs: When do new year (i.e. 2013) model bikes (specifically CAAD 10s) come out?

well, I got my 2012 CAAD10 in October 2011, and I think it was one of the first few shipments my LBS got. Maybe available to order in September?..

I was more wondering about buying a 2012 model once the 2013 models come out, unless the 2013 models end up being way better.
