I know my LBS sells below the price listed on Cannondale's site. My bike is listed on Cannondale's site as $2,330, I paid $2099, then got $226 store credit when my LBS put it on sale within 30 days @ $1899.

I was on a pretty tight budget too and got the CAAD8 6. It's my first road bike and I love it. Shiftings smooth, rides comfortable, all that good stuff. Yes it's not the lightest but for the price I think it's great. I would change the saddle though. All my 30+ rides are pretty rough and just did a metric century yesterday and my a$$ did not appreciate it at all. I think if you can stretch a bit and get tiagra, you'd be happier. It's really smooth and I heard shifting in the drops with sora was uncomfortable.

Thanks for all the input guy's my LBS has better prices than the site, I just provide the links so others can see the specs and give their advice/opinion. I don't mind at all going for a used bike, I have been looking for some good used ones in my area, but the guy's here want so much for thei used bikes that I could get a new one with the same money. The only "deal" I found the guy was ready to sell and we agreed on a meeting location. After some thought I asked him to meet me at the LBS (which is closer for him than the other location) and he refused. To me it was like he had something to hide when I wanted a Mechanic I trusted to look the bike over.

A little teaser. Almost done with my CAAD10. Waiting on my new brakes which will be here on wed. Then I can finish off the brake cables and get some good shots.

What wheels are those?

My shop just got a 2009 CAAD 9 with 105, new in the box. Last one in the world apparently. Holy grail for some cult members? lol.

50mm carbon clinchers built by PSIMET. 24/28 CX Ray spokes and novatec hubs. Running them tubeless.

My LBS charges retail for Cannondale.

If you don't mind me asking how much those PSIMET wheels weigh, and how much you pay for them? I was just trying to figure out their prices, b/c i was thinking of ordering a wheelset from them.

Here is another shot I took last night. With the stock tektro brakes and everything pictured (computer, cages, and light) it is 17.1lbs. When the new brakes arrive it will be under 17 lbs. I built it for fit and stiffness. It just happens to be light for a 58cm bike.

I left the crank arms hidden so you can't see the custom paint job until I can get some nice pictures outside in some good lighting.

Just picked her up today and couldn't be happier! Brushed aluminum with all the pretty carbon parts. Now I have to wait until the end of the damn weekend for my pedals and shoes to show up :( Such a tease.

I've been looking at picking up a CAAD 10 recently, and I was wondering what you all though about this deal my LBS is offering. It's the B&W frame from the 105 equipped model, but it will have a complete SRAM Force group installed. They told me they'd let it roll at $1700. I can also get a set of Fulcrum Racing 3 wheels for an additional $700 if I like. It's also going to have an Arione saddle as well.

That's a great price. $1700 is basically the retail for a 10-5. With the full force upgrade and an Arione you save a lot if you were planning to upgrade later.

As for the wheels at $700 I would pass. I'd rather have a set of Boyd Vitesse wheels at $550 over the Fulcrum racing 3s.

Is there something about the Fulcrum wheels that you don't like? I'm looking for a wheel that doesn't flex much, and I like the way the Speed 3s look.

CAAD10 with full Force for $1700 IS A ****ING STEAL. If the frame fits, you, jump on the ****er before someone else does. The wheels can wait for now; get adjusted with the bike first and then look more into wheelsets.

Post pics please.

They aren't worth the price IMHO. You can do better at that price. The Boyd's I mentioned are more aero, lighter, stiffer 20/24 CX Ray spokes, and cheaper. They are also 23mm wide which rides better. Don't worry about the wheels now because you can get them for less than $700. Just go buy that bike if it's your size!

I love my fulcrum 3 wheels, but i paid $400 for them a few months back on PBK. Don't think I would pay $700 for them, that seems a bit steep.

Blue/black frame. Black components.

UMassAm 07-19-12 05:37 AM

agree. white or blue/green seatpot and stem would be mint.

Thanks. Do you have a link for specs? That 10-2 force option looks cool. Can't tell what crank.

Nope, just pics I saw on RoadBikeReview forums. I'm pretty sure that's SRAM's S900 crank though.
