The zilla indeed. Nah, they actually went out earlier than expected, but USPS is taking them for a spin I guess.

Pretty amazing turn around for a custom build. After my hubs got to him on the 5th (I ordered them from BDop and shipped em to RG), he had the wheels built by the 7th, and in the mail on the next monday, the 10th. And all this after I told him to take his time on them because I wasn't in need of them. I told him to finish his other Blackfriday/cybermonday rush orders before he got to mine.

Any day now.

Check out ebay. At least one seller has a good selection of Cannondale paint colors.

Haven't been able to track down the Berserker Green, but I did hear back from Cannondale. If anyone is interested, the paint code is Dupont GSS089. Now, where to take this information to get some mixed up...

Nice. I just put hollowgrams on my CAAD10 and they are awesome. I have praxis chainrings though. Shifting is even better than with Sram Force crankset.

FPSDavid 12-20-12 01:33 PM

Don't think I have a pic of my bike in its current configuration yet, so here it is:

Changes from stock
  • 3T Ergonova Pro handlebars
  • Fizik Microtex handlebar tape
  • Praxis Works chainrings
  • Garmin 500 + Speed/Cadence sensor
  • Elite Custom Race water cages

What's specific about the chainring that affects the shifting performance (just curious)?

I need to get new chainrings soon but it works and shifts very well. I might go with TT rings. I'm coming from Sram Red BB30 cranks. I just wanted to try the narrower q factor of the hollowgrams. maybe it'll relieve some of the creaking i get from the reds after 500 miles.

If i were to get the SL2 I would just get a SRM/Quarq unit.

The Praxis rings are stiff and have nice forged ramps. The rings are also timed to pick the chain during the power point of the rotation. The design is excellent and on par with Shimano's best offering. Some would even argue they are better but I won't go there as I can't really tell a difference. The hollowgrams with praxis rings and new red yaw and ergo shifters is bliss. Shifting up or down is instant click up or down. It's amazing how quiet and quick it is.

Now that you have Black chainrings I think KMC golden chain will work just fine. Some bling is always welcome.

I'm looking to change the rings after the new year. I'm in debate between the stock cdale, praxis clover and sram TT (going to black it out)

Hi.

Sorry if it's a dumb question. I have a new 2012 CAAD8. I've changed out the saddle, but now I want to fine tune the tilt. This bike has a bracket screw and what seems to be a tilt screw. I'm having trouble getting the saddle back on and and figuring out how to make the desired tilt adjustments. Does anyone know of a video or article that details this?

Thanks.

bikerjp 12-24-12 11:24 AM

Can you post a photo? Mine has two screws. Tighten the front and loosen the back to tilt down and vice versa.

NWS Alpine 12-24-12 12:09 PM

The post is very easy to adjust as it's a 2 bolt system. Use the front screw for tilt adjustment. Make sure to secure the rear bolt before checking the angle because it will pull the nose up slightly when tight. Check the angle and if it needs adjustment unscrew the rear bolt and adjust the front bolt up or down and then secure the rear bolt. Very quick and easy to make minor adjustments.

weehawk 12-24-12 02:19 PM

Thanks. I got it. You're right. You have to play with it, because once you tighten the rear, it tends to pull it back up. I tried it out and the seat is much better. I was pretty sore after yesterday's 30 miler. The seat was definitely off.

David, bike looks great! howyou liking those bars? I think i remember you saying you didn't like that bar tape because it was to thin? You get used to it yet or still thinking about swapping it out?

I've only ridden it a few times since I put the bars on, but they're pretty nice. I'm getting LizardSkins DSP 2.5 bartape for Christmas though, hopefully a bit more cushy.

FPSDavid 12-26-12 06:23 PM

New tape and K-Edge Garmin Mount:

Nagrom_ 12-26-12 06:51 PM

Got the wheels finally. They got lost in the mail, but finally made it to me. Sub 1500g with steel skewers.

4.15kg as it is pictured. Only thing to go is the groupset, and the rubber. The final build should be well under 15 pounds. I'm pretty excited to finish this, but am stuck financially at the moment, and for the sake of doing it righ, I'll postpone it until I can put what I want on there, rather than settling. So it sadly won't be done within the year. Still pretty happy.
