rcracin 06-18-13 01:49 PM

I think there are different Prologos on the Caad 10-3 and 10-5.

The 2013 CAAD 10 5 comes with Prologo Kappa Evo

I'd jump on that quick!

I know, but I'm going to get fitted later today. A 54 is probably what I need. When I straddle the 56, it isn't hitting my nuts, but I dont like that there isn't at least an inch of space.

dudemanppl 06-18-13 02:45 PM

Dammit, being a small Asian man means a 50 or 52 if I want ridiculous saddle-to-bar drop.

OldTryGuy 06-18-13 03:36 PM

Haven't got a clue and hope someone here can help me.

I was given a Handmade USA CAAD 8, full D/A, SLK 39/53, Ksyrium Elite wheels bike. Any idea what year it could be and where did it sit in their line-up?

Thanks for your help.

freedomrider1 06-18-13 04:17 PM

Send it to me and I will take a look at it,then get back to you.:innocent::innocent:

Sounds like a 56 is quite a bit too big, although standover is only the very roughest estimation, and questionable at all on modern frames.

Someone "gave" it to you? The paint scheme/color will likely determine the year. I have two, both 2005. A blue R5000 and a matte black R1000 recently rebuilt with Campy Athena. Great bikes!

Dark blue/white lettering with black Premium Slice carbon forks.

As far as given, my best friend and wife were RVing for whole summer a couple of years ago. His younger brother called me about oldest brother passing away. Nobody could get in touch because no cell phone at campground. Best friend calls me all excited because he just biked down Mt. Pisgah, NC into town and I had to tell him about his older brother. After services he gave me the bike since he knew no one in the family could appreciate such a machine and it was better than my 1983 Campy Paramount I built up.

I just got a Giant Propel SL3 and am using the CAAD 8 as my workout bike. The Giant is just way too easy for my Ironman workouts but great for the group rides and my 100+ mile rides.

Best friend can't remember when his brother got the bike so I figured maybe the experts here would have an idea.

Thanks for your reply and enjoy your bikes.

Ok new deal. Found a 2011 CAAD 10 105 for $850. Looks clean, guy said he rode it for 350 miles. Seems like a good deal to me.

Anyone know if a 2011 bike has the most recent model 105 components? I think the recent model is 5700 and the older one is 5600? Sorry for all the questions. Promise I'll post pics when I get a bike!!! I'm almost positive it's going to be a CAAD 10 of some sort.

That's a sweet deal. Those frames go for $600 - $700 on eBay. Your getting a barely used 105 gouppo plus wheels, handle bars and seat for $150.

Great ride today, except for the 28 mile long headwind home - and there was no tailwind when I left - I hate when that happens.

Hi i know this is probably not the right thread but i am wondering if some one can guide me. I am currently riding a "2010 CUBE Litening Super HPC" DADi2 frame which i bought of ebay and then equipped with Ultegra Di2 components and Mavic ksyrium SL wheels.

I love the ride, its a low 7kgs bike and has allot to offer. A friend has offered to buy it at a great price so i am thinking of coming back to the cannondales which i have been itching to do since last 3 years.

I am looking to buy a Cannondale SuperSIX. I will be in NYC in first 10 days of July and would be easy for me to carry the bike home in Asia. can some one advise on a good place to buy SuperSix in NYC at a good price? If they offer customization that would be even better since i prefer getting it upgraded with Ultegra Di2.

I would even go with a CAAD10 equipped with Ultegra Di2.

My favorite Cannondale dealer in NYC is Paragon Sports on 18th and Broadway. They offer great service (free bike fit with apptmt) and will discount bikes 10% with a Transportation Alternatives membership (great local bike advocacy group). I got a great deal on a 2013 CAAD 10 -5 and after destroying the frame in a crash, they moved all the my kit over to a frame I picked up on eBay for FREE. They then redid my bike fit which other shops charge for. (We brought the bars down 2 spacers among other subtle adjustments). I showed them my appreciation by buying a sweet pair of Sidi's. I think there's ample SuperSix inventory, but you may have a hard time finding CAAD 10 frames. You may have to visit a few dealers. You can visit Paragon and Sid's, another Cannondale dealer is just down the street.

I need to understand something here. My 2006 CAAD8 was a rocket ship. Pedals thought about moving and the bike launched 5 feet at a time. An Al 105 synapse is the same way... Both bikes felt alive.

Tonight I test rode this caad10 http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bik/3877097265.html and it felt like a slug and seriously was worse than my Giant cypress Sx. The stupid part... That 53 chain ring was barely missing any paint at all. I'd guess 100-200 miles if that. The only questionable thing seat post clamp bolt and the inside of the stem clamp bolt heads was all corroded and rusty. The derailleur cables was fine, but the rear brake cable was corroded the entire length of the top tube. Frustration is because I am right between a 54 and 56 so always sized up to a 56. Maybe the bike was just tight from not having been ridden?

Anyways frustrated with my fit with the CAADs and frustrated with that ride (maybe it was those crappy Bontragers) I called a local bike shop and was like hey I am down in Cinncy (80 miles from home) looking at a Rival CAAD 10 will you match the price for a Al synapse 105. $1,275. He said yes so.... I am thinking I'll slam the stem on the Al. synapse, add RS80's and Conti 4000s 's. maybe eventually throw SRAM Force on it. Or ride it hard, put it away wet for a winter bike.

My issue Cannondale don't have an 56 raw Al 105 synapse, and I'm not sure I want white. Did I act too hasty?

I'm not really getting the point of your post Metieval......

THSdrummer 06-25-13 06:51 AM

Any 2014 CAAD info/pics?

I've seen 2 of the CAAD8 colorways. Just curious if anymore were circulating.

Why would a caad10 feel like a slug? Maybe?

Possible reasons? But if it isn't even a possibility to some cult members, then it confirms I made the correct choice in going with a synapse.

There's no reason a CAAD10 should feel like a slug to the extent you seem to mean, any more than any other frame really. All the corrosion and rust you mention is probably the culprit - if you could see lots of it, there's probably more going on in the BB, in the hubs, etc. The fact that you saw any at all should be your clue that it was a horribly maintained bike.

Why not test ride both the CAAD10 and and the synapse, at the dealer?

Assuming that everything is mechanically sound - ie; the brakes aren't rubbing the wheel or the wheel isn't askew in the dropouts, wheel bearings are not overly tightened - wheels and tires can make a bike feel sluggish.
