Another option ... remove the white decals and replace with Red (available from Reynolds) :thumb:

Appreciate the compliments and all good suggestions, thanks guys! Super happy with how it's turning out.
I'm torn on what to do with the decals. I like them the way they are, but removing them would also be killer.
Leaving the one R logo is cool too. Those red decals are pretty sinister, but couldn't them on Reynold's site.

Here you go ... Reynolds Cycling

Is there any info on the 2017 CAAD12? I'm thinking of buying one but might just get the 2016 model for a discounted price if there's nothing different.

I gave in to peer pressure and de-dorked it.

100 miles in and the only flaw I've found is the bar tape. It seems to soak up sweat and become a little slippery compared to my previous tape. Other than that, it is making me happy in every possible way. I have trouble sleeping at night if I know I will get to ride it in the morning.

That's a very nice bike. Be honest now that the dork disc is gone it looks a lot better.:thumb:

Thanks. To be honest, I would never notice the presence or absence of a dork disc if it wasn't for less dorky people constantly pointing it out. I did buy a smaller saddle bag. Red one, too.

I love this bike too much. I can't stop thinking about riding it.

I'm about 98.37% sure I'm going to get myself a CAAD12 105 at some point within the next 6 months or so. During the "can't wait until the big day" waiting phase, I've been spending countless hours drooling over potential upgrades over the long run. Most of them are pretty straightforward, but one thing in particular that I'm pretty clueless about is chainrings. I can't find a whole lot of information about (standalone) chainrings that aren't a complete package with a crankset. What would you guys consider the best chainrings? Praxis? Rotor? I'm sure I won't actually be in great need of upgrading/replacing the chainrings for a long time, but my curiosity is piqued.

Took my CAAD12 (105 model) into the shop. They broke it! They were able to upgrade me to a CAAD12 Black inc no charge!

OK I'll bite, what did they do to it?

They clamped the top tube, putting a huge dent in the frame.

Dammnn ******...
I see the only thing left of the CAAD12 is the frameset. Did you buy just the frameset or a bike and replaced everything? I've been looking for a frameset for a while :(

I got the whole bike. The wheels were the first ones I sold since I have the HEDs. The Ultegra I'll transfer to my other bike replacing a 105. You should be able to get the frameset only. Check their website CAAD 12 Ultegra Disc or Non-Disc for your frameset color options.

It's hard to believe that anyone - especially someone who works in a bike shop - is that stupid to clamp an aluminum bike by the top tube.

I want these bars, but I already have two sets of the ltd ergonovas and can't bring myself to spend the money. I guess I need to buy a third road bike so I can justify them, haha.

Super nice looking bike by the way!

Here's my Caad4. I've posted before, but it's gone through some recent refinements.

2007 CAAD 9 Optimo 1... changes include a new saddle, cheapo stem, Shimano 5800 crankset/Ultegra 6800 BB, Vittoria Rubino Pro tires, and bar tape. Ride well but still trying to hone in my fit; I think I need a setback post (thinking Thomson Elite?). DA 7800 drivetrain (aside from crankset) and ULT 6700 brakes.

What is a fair price for a 9 months old 2016 CAAD 8 CLARIS?

All stock and low mileage.

I'm split between the CAAD12 105 and CAAD12 Ultegra, would there be much detriment to buying the 105 and then swapping out the crankset for a 65mm Ultegra crankset by using spacers? I would be losing out on not using Cannondale's crankset but could also get 165mm cranks for much cheaper. Would anyone recommend or not recommend doing this? Would the weight and strength difference be very perceptible?

I just picked up a CAAD8 Sora for about $600 or so brand new, 2015 model year. Hope this helps with gauging a price. The MSRP was around $1000.
The bike shop I spoke too said they dont even stock the Claris because the Sora is a better deal for $100 or so more.
