Did you have any issues with your eTap installation, particularly, the hollowgram crank arm hitting the FD? Nice bike BTW.

Not at all. Swapped all the spacers and shims over and no issues

Reason I asked is a because another rider on the Cannondale forum had issues with his install. He was using a 2015 Super Six EVO HM frame (same BB30a as CAAD12). He said he had to use a lot of shims to get clearance. Anyway GTK since eTap is on my upgrade list on my CAAD12 as well. tnx.

Yeah, it's raining. But I just finished installing the Reynolds R Four on my CAAD10 built up with full 7800 and couldn't resist the share. Build's not done yet though. Have FSA water bottle cages,Cont GP2's, and watching some 7810 pedals on fleebay. Fingers crossed.

Pull those decals off the Reynolds. It will look much better. I have those same wheels (Assaults) and did exactly that. It does not affect the warranty either. Just a suggestion. Great looking bike.

Leave the R sticker by the valve is my suggestion. Understated but still flashy.

Oh, and to the OP, rotate your tires so the logo matches up with the valve.

Another option ... remove the white decals and replace with Red (available from Reynolds) :thumb:

I've joined the cult. This is my new 2017 CAAD12 105 in Barbecue Red. Huge step up from my old Trek. I can't believe how smooth it is over broken pavement.

Appreciate the compliments and all good suggestions, thanks guys! Super happy with how it's turning out. I'm torn on what to do with the decals. I like them the way they are, but removing them would also be killer. Leaving the one R logo is cool too. Those red decals are pretty sinister, but couldn't them on Reynold's site.

For the record, I bought used Reynolds back in the day and someone had already torn off the R logo at the valve. I couldn't bring myself to remove the other logos, nor could I bring myself to buy a whole new decal pack just for the R. I feel your pain of not knowing what to do, haha.

Logos are pro!

Thats the instructions that came with my EVO, I would say it holds true for any bike that has the system integration headset/topcap tho.

Just bought a Giant TCR and I am looking to unload my 2013 CAAD10 Force 2. Good condition, nothing really upgraded. Would expecting to get around 1000 be realistic?

New owner of a CAAD 12 checking in! So far about 50 miles on the bike and I love it. It was between this and the ALR 5 and went CAAD after trying them back to back at my LBS.

Looking for building it up a little. Considering a carbon seat post next. Fairly new to cycling so any recommendations would be appreciated.

It's a sad day, my CAAD 9 has got a dented top tube - I guess that's the problem with leaving it locked outside the office every day.

Was looking to get a CAAD 12 frame and moving my Khartoum elites, ultegra and carbon finishing kit on to that, BUT, our local bike shop stocks some very nice Ti frames, so I'm going big and buying the Enigma Excel!!!

Excited but gutted to see the old bike go..... After thousands of miles and continuous upgrades, will be a damn shame to get rid of it

celilcetiner 08-08-16 12:52 AM

its time to fuel it up :)

I gave in to peer pressure and de-dorked it.

100 miles in and the only flaw I've found is the bar tape. It seems to soak up sweat and become a little slippery compared to my previous tape. Other than that, it is making me happy in every possible way. I have trouble sleeping at night if I know I will get to ride it in the morning.

Sounds reasonable to me, but it probably depends on where you live, the condition of the bike, and how you plan to sell it. If it's in great shape, in some areas, it seem like you might get a little more. Why'd you downgrade to the Giant?

What makes you think that TCR is a downgrade?

Given the name of this thread, I assumed it would be pretty obvious I was being playful. ;)

Personally when I rode the CAAD10 and the TCR back-to-back in 2012 I preferred the Cannondale, especially since it had better components at a lower price. Of course, at that time I hadn't ridden a road bike in years and was pretty clueless. The CAAD just felt more solid. I know the TCR's are much loved bikes, just like the CAADs.

I'm torn between the two... it all started with wanting a CAAD12, but my LBS has an amazing closeout deal.
A TCR SLR 0 2014 for $1999. the MSRP for it was $4050.
https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us...0/14799/66279/

I'm trying to find a CAAD 12 RED for a reasonable price, but it is been hard.
