That is crazy light.

Did anyone beat that?

Just bought a CAAD 10 frame. My objective is to build as light a bike as I can afford, which is where the CAAD frame comes in. Frame, fork, and seat post/clamp in hand weigh 4.6 lbs. I have a set of Ksyrium SLs that I can dedicate to the project. With a little browsing and addition is seems that I can build about a 16.5 lb. bike with Ultegra or a 15.7 lb. bike with Dura Ace. Does that seem in the ballpark? 12.8 lbs. is nuts. Going with SRAM Red22 would save a couple hundred grams over DA, but there's not much more low hanging fruit.

I was soooo close to finishing my Cippo Saeco Replica bike, I just had to many other projects and sold it:mad: I have had well over 30 bikes , some collectable Italian , some newer , but you cannot go wrong with a Cannondale Caad Series !

I think you'll like the SRAM Red - lighter for sure.

Here's some pics of my 2014 frame - it's cool because you can do either seamlessly.

Rear brake cable goes through the headtube. There's a small extra slot right below for e-wire.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=401151

There's a hole on the back of the seat tube for the fd. Need to add a grommet here.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=401154

The chainstay cable stop unscrews and can be replaced with an ewire port.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=401155

The down tube cable stops unscrew as well..

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=401159

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=401156

And can be replaced with blank plates.

But... I want my bike to look sexier. Suggestions?

Looking good, the white and black scheme is one of my favorites. Maybe lose the red on the bottles, just do white or clear.

And then, if your back can take it, drop the stem down and cut the steerer. May just be the angle of the pic but the bars look almost even with the saddle.

And deep section rims always look sweet. But more importantly, both of those mods will make you more aero which will make you faster which is always cool :thumb:

I bought this frame as frame only and I'm building it up as SRAM Force 22. I like the option of doing Di2 in the future though as I'm also building up a Cervelo S3 with Di2 right now - if I don't keep that frame then I'll move the Di2 over later..

Guess I'm officially a member now, found a 2014 CAAD 10 a few days ago new for just under $1200, had it built up and just got it yesterday. Took it out for the first real ride today! A little more than the 800 I initially budgeted for my first road bike, but I really wanted something that I could race one nicely if I decide to get into that.

One of the local climbs on todays ride

Yours truly!

Who are you on TL btw?

Monkey D.Luffy 08-23-14 07:21 PM

I don't really know you, but I followed BW from the Boxer days and played with you once or twice on iccup (even I don't play much, I like your casting). Hope you tuned in to the Reunion Tourney on TL today, it was good. I'm isometric on TL (mostly for BW, and Blogs)

And shoulders and elbows and twig/berries. The lenses on his sunglasses must be so tall they come half way up his forehead.

No more sneak peeks, Cannondale has posted the '15 line up. Go check 'em out

Interesting. Very few SRAM builds.

THSdrummer 08-29-14 07:48 AM

No MSRP included on the website?

The CAAD10 3 includes a Hollowgram now! And they kept the stealth option for another year. Two promising features. I've been looking into a mountain bike, but I'm second guessing that now.

evrythngsgngrn 08-29-14 08:13 AM

Finally a SRAM option for the CAADX!! I think I found my cross bike.

Do you knoe if Fat Frogs has any in stock yet? I talked to Brian at Scat Bikes and he said he won't have any '15 stock for a while. IMO they look so much better in person than on the website. I really like the black/green/white 10-3.

I don't think Fat Frogs is a Cannondale dealer anymore. They only carried the line for about a year. Conte's has been a Cannondale dealer for years. I deal with Daniel at the Laskin Road location. I haven't been to any of the local shops for a while. I was in the Texas hill country around San Antonio for a month and just got back. I took my Supersix Evo HiMod; what a great bike for climbing:)

rms13 08-29-14 12:30 PM

What's the feelings on the disk versions? Is there a weight penalty for disks over caliper? I might think about one of those next year

Dude thank you so much for this visual ... I laughed sooo hard LOL

prorobo 08-31-14 08:31 AM

As long as the new Caad 10 SRAM Rival disc isn't $1,000+ more than what I can currently pick up a '14 10-4 for, I will own one! Are the '15's already being shipped to dealers?

I sorta want to call the local C-Dale dealers to see if they are getting the new CAADs in stock. Shame, I know, but most of the local Cannondale dealers are some of my least favorite shops. I wish the LBS in my college town stocked C-Dales. I'd probably already have mine listed for sale and be saving for that new Ultegra model. Anyone see any of the new 10s in person?

This thread was a few pages back, so I had to give it a bump.

Here's a photo I snapped on my last ride. The sun was rising over the country fields and it was just stellar. The photo doesn't capture the true beauty of the situation, but never the less, it's better than just a blank photo.
