Wait so are we actually getting 6 different colors of the synapse?
Wow. Unless each color is reserved for Synapse 6/5/4/3. Anybody have any idea whether the rim brake versions will be identical in color with their disc brake counterparts or are rim brake synapses being phased out. I know for sure they only offer CAADX bikes for the next year with disc brakes, but I can't recall for sure what the consensus for the Synapse line is.... |

@TS maybe you can help me with something. What are the difference between the two photos? Are the top the colors for the aluminium synapse while the middle are for the carbons? Or are some for the synapse 5 while the others are for synapse 6. To my understanding the frames of the synapse 6/5/4/3 are exactly the same exact in colorways.
Also, does anybody know whether or not this is possible. Bike A came with disc brakes. Bike B came with Rim brakes. You take only the frame from Bike A and use all the components from Bike B. Or are disc braked bikes have a special designed frame. Notice the tabs at the end of the fork and in the rear triangle, which rim brake bikes do not have http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdn...09-600x399.jpg http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdn...03-600x399.jpg I am not sure if the disc frames are drilled for rim brakes as well.....but as it stands now, frames an forks are designed for specific brakes and they are not interchangeable. You can usually put a disc fork in a rim brake frame with no ill effects.....but remember the head tube was not designed for that much braking leverage so it may fubar something in the long run and cause you to need a new frame (stretching where the head set mounts in) |
Not too far. Never shopped there before, didnt know they carried caads.

What year did Cannondale stop using threaded bbs in the CAAD?

Some do some dont. Do you have a shop near you? I would only buy a bike from REI is if the shops don't offer free tune ups for life w/a bike purchase or some other incentive.
The Evo Im looking into is the Ultegra Racing Edition one. incase some one know a shop that has one. |

There are 8 different colors for the 2014 carbon synapse available. As for the ones in the picture, It looks like the ones that come with 105 will be rim brakes (the top/white and bottom/blue). The others look like ultegra and da (maybe DA Di2), which will come with discs, and disc frames are different from rim brake frames. \/

I was going to get my frame swapped on my 2014 with a 2015 and i really hope the only two options for the Synapse Carbon frames arent the blue/white and white/black. |

I'm not usually one to talk about anything other than CAAD in the designated CAAD thread (there is a show us your cannondale thread)
But I'll bite on this one. The pic posted on the last page shows the '15 model synapse carbons on top and the current ones on the bottom. If you look at Cannondale's website all three bikes are on there. The one in the middle and the one on top are both Synapse carbon 5's and the black/white one at the bottom of the photo is the Synapse HI-Mod 3 ROAD - BIKES - 2014 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=391970 |

Oddly enough, the powder blue bike in the very first picture seems to show rim brakes as well. http://fcdn.roadbikereview.com/attac...88117475_n.jpg |
hmmm...good points....and now that I look closer, the black/white one has a disk as well but that's the same paint scheme as the current Hi-Mod 3

If the ones we see with rim brakes are the only ones (white/black and white/blue) coming config'd with rim brakes, thats kind of disappointing. I guess Caad is really trying to phase rim brakes out. |
Convinced my gf so split the cost of a new frame with me. Now to wait and see what colors 2015 brings. I am not a fan of that blue.
|
Hopefully it will be a red just like the blue. If not a year end sale frame. But I figure it I am going to shed money on doing the exact same thing......I may as well get something slightly different out of it and look at the 2015s first. :p

Going with the disc or rim version?
Depends on the colors. If a disc frame is a red or green like the blue one posted then i'll go with discs. If I don't like any of the 2015 i'll go with a year end 2014. Either way my frame needs to be sold before year end sales :p |
|
The force evo is similar to that as well.
|

I don't need another track bike, I don't need another track bike, I don't need another track bike...
|
Sure you do! You can't have enough track bikes. So simple and pure! I want to see the geometry chart for that bike. It looks like standard road geometry to me but the angle of the pics makes it difficult to tell.
|
For the caad10, looks like only the disc frames are internally routed. Not that I care for internal routing, but I find that interesting.
And for reference, look where the black inc cables enter the DT and look where the rim brake frames' cables enter the DT. |
But more importantly, when can i put money down on a 2015 force frame set? :D
I may do it while the shop is having their year end sales. Maybe they will throw a ridiculous deal my way to move a current bike and not order something new :innocent::lol: Would have to be the deal of the century to change my mind though. |
the 10-2 and the 10-3 can have all my money...lol
I guess there is no Rival version this year? |
