Does anyone know how the di2 cables are routed in the Black Inc caad10? I found a thread over on weightweenies showing the cables in the bottom bracket but my question is how are they routed from where they enter the top tube to the bottom bracket. Doesn't the seatpost get in the way?

Asking bc I have a chance to buy a Ultegra Di2 kit for a great price and I'd like to route the cable internally at least for the handlebar to bb run. Thanks for any help!

Just picked this up 2 weeks ago to use as my commuter/ B Bike. Loving the ride.

EDIT 1999 R1000D (CAAD3 with a Slice Echelon CF fork). The rear Ultegra Derailleur was bent to hell (drop out was fine), so I put a Sora short cage derailleur on it till I can source an Ultegra of the right vintage (Just for consistency with the rest of the Ultegra group on it. I know pretty much almost any Shimano Derailleur will work)

The Black Inc CAAD10 is the only CAAD10 setup for internal electronics. It won't except internal mechanical either.

You could run it externally, but I'm not sure how that is done.

wrecked old one. So bought a new complete 105 2011. Zombie caad. Same thing.

I understand that, my question is how is the cable that enters the headtube routed.

Sorry guys... I have to post these pictures.
The good news however, is that I'm going to sell my car and get a new caad10 Rival/105/Force ??? not sure which one. IMO for 2013 the Brushed Aluminum w/ Jet Black and White is best choice.

I am thinking Caad10 105, and then throw RS80's on it or WH 6700's maybe WH-9000-C24-CL-F depending on $$ Gotta buy a new $250 helmet too. :-s
Maybe throw on my old bars, my Ultegra brakes (I am not real sure on the condition of rear derailleur, the front is bent)

25.8 mph says garmin, It was a cut back. The road I was carving a left onto was banking to the right, Pavement was falling away from me I started a 4' drift when I ran out of pavement and hit turf she just folded on me and put me in head first... breaking my Giro Aeon in 7 place on the left side. Stupid mistake, but I am alive to learn from it. Forgive me Caad lovers.

The bike is totalled, but how did you fair? Well, I hope.

It died an honorable death.
Go with Force. I love mine.

Muffin Man 05-10-13 11:16 PM

That'll buff right out.

Sorry for you loss man.

+1 on the Force. I don't have zero loss on the rear shifter because my stuff is old, but its still awesome.

Metieval 05-10-13 11:20 PM

I did ok, I a fractured finger and walked around all stiff n stuff for a week. lol Lucky I didn't break my neck or collar bone. I hit hard.

I'd ride Force stock and go with the Brushed Aluminum w/ Jet Black and White (Gloss)
The 105 seriously need a wheel upgrade. I don't think I like the FSA energy wheel set either..... My rear mavic was sprung pretty hard. So I can't reuse them Unless I find a rear somewhere. They are Heavy anyways!

Not sure what I can get the LBS down on prices. I do know they said crash frame replacement caad10 is $744 (I think) the RS80's are on Jenson USA for $599. That's $1343 just for wheel set and frame... Bleh!! lots of number screaming around in my head right now.

Elduderino2412 05-10-13 11:21 PM

+2 on the force love mine. zero loss would be even better. i noticed a difference on my MTB when i added new zero loss shifters.

Muffin Man 05-10-13 11:23 PM

Are there things you can salvage off your crashed frame to try and bring the cost down if you get a crash replacement frame?

everything Front of the BB ? maybe the rear cassette and brakes. I've never ever been happy with the Ultegra on the r1000. jumpy, skippy, racked my nuts a few times on rising up out of the saddle BOOM and then the chain would catch. never could figure it out.
I think parting and piecing is going to cost me more.

With Force it's Pay the LBS and be done with it.
With a 105, I've bullet proof shifting, I can run my old bars, and Ultegra brakes, upgrade the wheel set. and still be way lighter, stiffer, and faster than the cadd8 could ever be.

Disregarding street value Force is $2,700 retail and the 105 is $1,700 + $600 for RS80's $2,300 Ohhh umm that's $400 difference.

makes the Force really appealing especially if I can part out the caad8 for a portion of that difference.

Nagrom_ 05-11-13 12:03 AM

You REALLY won't be disappointed with Force. It's fantastic.

Upilu 05-11-13 09:03 AM

shimano is a swiss clock

Here's my old one. Picture taken on today's ride. I know it's not "Hot", just thought it was a nice picture

My new bike, still need to slam it:

Metieval 05-11-13 07:41 PM

Nerull , what is that saddle?

Edit: Thank you, I need to get to a Bike shop carrying specialized. and sit on a few Toupe or Romin.

Which also means that I am probably going to end up with a 105 caad10. Spending the difference from the Force price on a wheelset, saddle, etc... sure I may be a pound heavier, it may shift slower. But I really don't shift much anyways. 40 miles +/- 900 feet pretty flat. A saddle and wheelset makes a bigger difference than a pound or two.
How ever, I am still thinking this out.

Nerull 05-11-13 07:47 PM

It's a Specialized Toupe

I haven't seen a Caad in that color before. looks like it's been well cared for. Almost too nice of a bike to be a commuter though.

Metieval 05-11-13 08:42 PM

it is beautiful.... can we fit 700x28's on a caad frame?

I'd totally take a beat up older caad frame strip it paint it Fluorescent Yellow/green and Commute it. Maybe I'll save my busted up bike components for that purpose. :D

Metieval 05-12-13 06:26 AM

I need to ride a Rival to see if I like it more than Ultegra... If I do what kind of a deal can I make with a LBS to

Do the Rival Caad10 with....
700x25 Conti GP4000 Reflex
Force Crankset 53/39
and a 2013 Giro Aeon

Think I can get that for $2,200 ?

ricohman 05-12-13 07:36 PM

Finally got around to setting this new CAAD10-3 up and going for a ride. I'm pleased with the ride quality and my other bike is a Specialized Roubaix.
The wheels are Soul 3.0 in the new wider width and GP4000S tires. And a Cateye computer with an HR that is reading waaay low.
Maybe its just this CAAD10-3 is so much easier to ride!
