Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Colorado Springs is not great. Between the base and numerous other things not worth getting into.

I may not get to ride today. I walked downstairs to the sound of two sugared up kids and no parents. Then the sound of a very stressed out parent maneuvering towards the door behind me. We're working on open field tackles and sliding down stairs on couch cushions. My idea to bring back a change of clothes since we were going to run around in the muck got shot down so I improvised.

What makes Illinois any better or worse than Wisconsin? Do not include Abraham Lincoln in your answer.

Pizza will only make you fat and the Cubs/Bears/Bulls stink.

That said, I'd give a slight edge to Illinois because Wisconsin seems even dumber. Ice fishing? How can you top that?

miyata man, you disappoint me with your riposte.

CL ad for fixie wheelset here in Austin:

"Hey there all you p0zers

I have this wheelset for sale for all your p0zin' needz. It's pretty fly and I rode 'em for like a day before I realized that I needed some Deep Vs for maximum functionality. But I know some of you p0zers don't care how fly your wheels look and what color(s) they are, so for those of you that are just interested in things that work properly, these wheelz have your name all over them. Check out the mad pix below and holla at me if you're interested. [The wheels came off a Bianchi San Jose, and the rear hub is a flip/flop with single speed on one side and fixed on the other. No cogs, freewheels or lockrings are included.]

Happy p0zin'!
"

Server issues again.

My serious answer to the ridiculous question pertains to the one thing WI will never force on the world yet Chicago is very proud of.

I did, that's how I ended up with a boat anchor on the front of my bike, but damn it is comfy.

Speaking of boat anchors, the fork on my Schwinn weighs like 2lbs.

Sorry, but it was a rest day so no data today. I went with my neighbor to help him take a TV from his brother's house to the assisted living home he is staying in. After that I went out for lunch with him. When I got home I went to my parents' house and installed a bakflip tonneau cover on my pick'em up truck and had some dinner with them. Then I came home and rubbed my dog's belly for a while and now I'm watching Clint Eastwood in Dead Pool.

I'm supposed to be leading the club's group ride tomorrow morning but the weather isn't looking to promising.
