Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This one girl at the Plaid Pantry (7-11 / Circle-K equivalent) by my old house used to always say "hunky dory". And she was a youngin', too. That strikes me as a phrase only old people and maybe folks of all ages from Branson might use so regularly.

Wonder if she was from Branson.

Post meta ironic intentions are hard to decipher.

Plaid Pantry wut that place sounds swell and also like it encourages such phrases.

exactly my thoughts about it. Hence the "wut". I liked my trainer for a week.

I despise it now. Using it yesterday was horrible. (but better than riding in 9" of rain)

At some point it is not worth washing every bit of grease and lubricant out of the bike.

I think I made the dual mistakes of reminding her about work and the fact that it was keeping her from riding. After the thread about meeting gators on the roadway I would be scared to ride at night but I suspect she is rightfully concerned about less squat predators.

I guess the owners of Kum & Go are quite open about having such intentions when they named the business. At one point they approached the good people at In & Out about combining their respective businesses at some locations. In & Out is not fond of ulterior interpretations to their brand and quite publicly told them no.

My local favorites are The Village Pumper and as mentioned earlier in the thread, The Munch Box. I think Makel wins for most blatantly distasteful.

I woke up on the right side of the grass this morning, what a way to start the day.

With it or by it? I dug a hole with the quote function that needed some smoothing over before it became a tripping hazard. This was the best filler I could come up with on short notice.

Day is going downhill quick. A guy made a big mistake at work that I have to spend the next couple of days fixing. On top of that the weather service is calling for severe storms this evening and tomorrow. Looks like I'll have to take a couple of days off the bike. This SUCKS!!!!

So far just downed trees and flying shingles off my roof. If I flood we all need to build an ark. There are flood warnings in the area though. I don't know how the ground could possibly hold any more water.

Game 5. Game 7.

Did Vol leave again in protest? Maybe he didn't appreciate my life suggestions.

The FedEx Home Delivery guy was in stealth-mode this morning. Didn't realize he was here until he was on the way back out of the driveway.

He left behind another piece of the Schwinn rehab puzzle.

I don't know since I don't bookface or twit. It is strange not having him post his tidbits here though. OR maybe, coasting really is his sock.
