A lot of wind, but I really love the trail I did laps on. Being able to monitor my cadence I noticed that before the Edge I liked to coast a lot. Not this time. There was no coasting.
I was using a Garmin 60CSx prior to this; it's soooo nice to be bale to see HR/Cadence. And I didn't know it had a thermometer on it. This is the coolest toy I've bought myself in a long time.
Shower time. Who's coming?

Very nice group ride today. 63 miles, 3,500 feet of elevation gain, 18.2 mph average speed.

I'm a fan of the 500 as well after getting one about 2 months ago. I find the temperature reading not too bad indoors, but find that when both elevation and temperature are changing, I can throw elevation away.
TBF, the temp sensor is near the set of 4 holes on the bottom, opposite the ANT+ mark.

Haven't seen a well played "Htfu" in a while. And you KNOW it'll be on your sign when you come to Austin, right?
I was forced to Htfu today on my ride...I ended meeting a guy about 4 miles into my ride and rode with him until my turnaround point at 20 miles. Problem was, he had a few more watts in his tank so I was riding pretty hard...then I had to ride back. After turning around I had a moment when I looked at my mileage, did the calculation and said "crap...14 more miles". To Htfu I just focused on technique, pushed the pedals harder on the hills and geared down when my breathing became labored.

I almost thought about getting one of those GPS for bikes but for the little sticking point of the government mandated inaccuracies built in so that the elevation and positioning is at best a rough guess. Better safe from wayward bombs than $500 poorer.
VV, I remember pretty clearly stating that the offenders in the last case of a beleaguered soul could have directed their energy toward causing a better ending. What is it you want, me to use three syllable or shorter words in common usage? A full response by every member of the addiction thread to your posts? You are doing some rather attention grabbing stuff so please stop pouting and state your case.
SA - VG = A picture of someone in a properly aero position fighting for position in a race.
Dstrong should produce a proper picture of you suffering for an apples to apples comparison.

I am quite sure that the last good heavy pedal made was for the Dura-Ace 7400 gruppo. It feels good not to be a weight weenie and if I ever venture anywhere that requires a descent my small body weight can use all the help it can get.

They gave a group of British girls Dutch rollers and chronicled them using the bikes. They also chronicled the same number of girls in Germany where the environment is much friendlier to bikes and thus they are an integrated piece of the culture. The long standing difference in how the architectural layout of both countries handle the more pedestrian forms of traffic is contrasted with the health and viewpoints of the girls.
That was the fogey version.

We're a judgemental bunch. It's true.

Oh boy. So what did we learn today, class? That Velo Vol can be petty. It's not the first session on this, of course, but some lessons must be repeated. This is BikeForums, after all.
It's an interesting phenomenon. This evening a diesel pickup truck blasted me with a black exhaust cloud so thick that I couldn't see the road for a couple seconds, but that didn't phase me for more than a few seconds. Yet here I get irritated by a comment about a stupid avatar.
Go figure. And if you do, send me your findings. I'm still working on it.

I haven't ridden my bike a whole hell of a a lot in the past three weeks. Trying to rest my tendinitis in my ankle. Raced a crit today. Ended up 4th. I am happy with that. I heard allot of carbon banging around behind me. Kinda just happy to finish w/o crashing. I should of attacked earlier, I couldn't out sprint three of them.

So you are fuming at us because someone else did it you? Well the lesson I am seeing is that we should treat you, poorly or otherwise, from an impersonal standpoint you have chance at replying to. Or a mix of what RU and VG said, you are an epoxy that is missing the hardener.
