Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think every salaried job I've ever had, had a week between the end of a pay period and pay-day. For as long as I can remember (the last two non-freelance jobs I've held the past 10 years) I've been paid every other week. My memory gets fuzzy before that, as I changed jobs pretty frequently, but there was always a delay. Hourly wage and freelance jobs were a crapshoot.

Most of my clients pay promptly but I have had a few (and one currently) that takes 4+ weeks. Almost makes me not want to work with them.

Hey rjones28,

I learned in a linked article that there is "lightweight paint." Are you going to use some?

No bike deserves the brush. You can do a really nice job with a rattle can provided you find the colors you like if you want to do it yourself. Some of the smaller auto body shops would probably enjoy spraying a frame as something different and it should be relatively inexpensive .

I don't think real C&V'rs would let a paint brush near one of their bikes.

If rjones becomes famous, think how much a finger-painted bicycle will be worth when he dies.

Gomer, I was not being sarcastic. That would be great. No one will have a bike like it. Jones, just wear Nitrile gloves when doing it. The paint could be toxic.

It would be wasted on this bike.

Real C&Vers don't repaint bikes at all it seems. This isn't really a classic bike, so I think it'll be okay.

Addiction update: Datlas is on fire this week. 2 threads started, both quickly hit 3+ pages and going strong.

VeloVol starts what looks like a thread with legs. It starts strong, hits 3 pages and dies, falling to p2 and certain demise.

Another update: datlas is staying out of addiction. Did you notice? I didn't think anyone missed me.

The sun is out. The sound of guns can be heard. The fair-weather turkey hunters are out. No treks through the fields today.

30 miles, 17mph average

1mph closer than I was last week to hitting my 20mph average. Although add hills, and forget about it.

Yeah, just been busy with work. But I may pop in from time to time. Not the next few days though, I gotta head to Long Island for my kids' swim meet.
