Excellent point.

I am still curious as to how the brush marks will be handled. Latex paint generally hides them pretty well.

This guy has a detailed write up. Evidently, sanding on the initial coats is the key.

I'm going to use a high gloss enamel. Painting will commence on Saturday.

Interesting. His "400 grit or finer" statement concerning the sandpaper is intriguing. Wet sanding with 1000, then 1500, then 2000 would be my suggestion.

Yeah, 400 grit seems pretty coarse for this job. I'm not going to follow his procedure exactly. Quite a few folks on C&V seem to have done this with decent results.

When I was a kid, my dad gave me the job of painting the frame of his race car. I just used gloss black Rust-Oleum for that.

I thought we agreed that you would fingerpaint? You can use your fingers with enamel. Just wear gloves.
