Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Closer to home, but a month sooner. I lost $175 on the registration, but it pales in comparison to the travel anxiety I was already having.
I would worry about the shipping just as much. It's never a sure thing that the bike will be OK.

That's the thing... I was already getting anxious about all this training and then having something go wrong

At least this way I can get there and keep Oscar close.

After opening a lot of bike boxes from the factory at a bike shop, and others shipped to the lbs for assembly, I would never ship any of my bikes.

Well, if a medium is too large, the next step would be a small.

I can say with confidence that 100% of the real-world people who saw me during my three-hour ride today did not give a crap what I was wearing.

But post a picture here and without fail someone will rehash the same clothing crack for the tenth time--because it's obviously so witty.

Camera with a timer and/or friend. You gotta be fast for the timer option, though as they usually only go up to 10 secs.

I guess video stills is another option.

I'm more concerned about VV's helmet strap tension than jersey fit.

I got in 15 mellow miles riding and 3.8 miles skateboarding. I gotta do more boarding on sunny days - really good workout and fun to boot.

Gonna get a fast 40 miles in tomorrow then grill some meat on Monday in remembrance of fallen soldiers.

Maybe someday I'll get a matching carbon fiber bike and skateboard set...

Edward Norton does a couple of bong rips!

And goes noodling. That was a separate scene though. I think he was straight for the noodling expedition.
