Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's better to have someone riding a triple than not riding at all.

As for mileage king, I'm sure it won't be me but I would love to hit 800 miles this month. I've got a pretty good start, 254 miles so far with 50 planed tomorrow and hopefully 40ish on Sunday. Today is a much needed rest day. My legs are shot.

He did send a friend request to a vBall girl a couple weeks ago, remember? She accepted it during the vBall game.

Always.

Eat less, ride more, lose weight, get stronger. It's actually quite simple.

That is not good. No money. What is worst, is that Heavener Runestone state park has some very old Native American ruins. Some of the oldest "Mounds" from the Cahokia.

The temperatures are above freezing on a daily basis. I still ride more than most on a daily basis. So it is really killing me that the first 15 miles of any ride are a miserable bleary eyed and heavily congested reaction to the already bad allergy season.

I can claim one day I rode more than a hundred miles. The cumulative exposure to Winter conditions has taken its toll on the commuter so I have not gone on the longer rides I would have.

Hey VV!

The Georgia Marathon sent me a finishers certificate. It is a close runner-up to your proficiency certificate.

Understood.

Figure I better kick up the ride a notch tomorrow, as rain is planned for Sunday.

I didn't even charge you $100 to appraise your fitness.

Just sat down and poured myself an awesome beer (Hoegaarden) to help me relax for the evening. It's a rough life, but someone has to do it.

i think i understand why soft saddles are the pits. i rode about 40 miles on a mountain bike along a mup and the soft saddle felt good to start with but in time it hurt like ass.

Hey coasting,

What's this about you becoming a mountain biker? That's pathetic.

C'mon, you are making me guilty of hitting a man when he's down as you try to pick him up. When mention of biking followed by a "threesome" that ends in lounging in a personal heaven on earth only serves to depress someone even more it tends to make one feel like an ass for bringing it up.

I will stop there in realization of a lot of the reasons you have been getting rather existential. In particular the remarried before the latest divorce is finalized cycle drains off alot of new entries.

i'm not. they didn't rent road bikes.

i had never done reasonable distance on a mountain bike before and i never appreciated just how inefficient they are compared to road bikes. when roadies passed me, it was like driving a tractor being passed by a porsche.
