Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I find humour in passing roadies on a hybrid with flatbar and cyclocrosstyres.

I talk to my wife about bikes too much.

I wake up in the morning, go pee downstairs, walk past the garage, see my almost done new TT bike hanging on the hooks and then I go tap the frame and turn the crank one turn.

When about to pass a woman roadie, I slow down first, adjust my kit, suck in my stomach and then pass with gusto, giving a small wave and cheery 'hello!'

Honey has very good antibacterial qualities. Maybe not such a bad choice.

I have not rode my bike or run in two days and I am jittery like I have had too much caffeine.

Using a bike pump helps. any other method would be probably incorrect.

For years I have lived a 15 minute bike ride from the velodrome but have only ever managed 10 laps. I think it's bloody boring.

On my way home from long rides I like dudes on $20 beater bikes working hard to overtake me. I can sit on their wheel and get a nice ride home.
