Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

*edit* carp...i guess that means my confession needs to be: I can name all the Spice Girls.
Really? I thought that Scary was the hottest. Posh was hot pre- blow-up doll procedures.

I thought a couple of them were kind of hot too, in a heavy-makeup kind of way.

I'm still not sure what "I really really really want a zig a zig ah" means. (or whatever that lyric was)

Bikes: skinny benny single speed/fixed gear, fuji carbon fiber road bike...

i'm way to honest for this thread, i'll try to tone it down...

• my riding buddy has me on a strict diet, yet i ate a bag of crunchy cheetos while picking up my kid today...
• i have a full fuji kit and haven't worn it in months... the day i did wear it and new shoes, my chain broke and took out the deraileur hanger, untrued my wheel and scratched the carbon frame...
• i learned how to ride a bike at the age of 24... i've been a roadie for almost a year now, and i still can't ride with one hand on the handle bar...
• i have never pooped in a public toilet or at a friend's house that i wasn't sleeping over in...
• i paint my nails better than any girl i know... they all hate on me for that...
• i also date very good looking men... and i think i'm an ugly dude... girls hate on that too...
• i also like the smell of my piercings... my ears are stretched, and my lip... i stretched my septum thinking it would rock, and it was a big mistake... worst piercing ever, and it smells gross... LOL...
• i sing when i ride if i'm not talking to someone... but i always have some random song in my head, and out of nowhere i just start singing... i think my brain is dieing...
• i don't know how to ride off the saddle... i can do it for an hour straight at spin class, but when i try on the bike i get scared... LOL...
• i am the fastest on the flats from my friends, but i get smoked on the climbs... i don't like pushing my self on climbs, they're stupid to me...
• when talking to other cyclist in shorts, i have to glance... not because i'm gay and stuffs, but because i never worn shorts before, and i'm curious where/how they put their junk...
• i like my chicken hobby a lot more than the cycling or reef hobby...

I don't make complete stops (foot down) at stop signs (unless there are cars present).

Let he who is without stop sign sins cast the first water bottle.

I totally blow through stop signs unless there are cars coming that would hit me. I don't care if anyone is watching and I don't even do a rolling stop, I just go. Lock me up.

In california, it's required by law. I've known people to get tickets for it... (and in Cali, they'll ticket you for anything and everything they can).

I know, but "law" is very different in Arkansas. We marry our sisters.

i think a Texas wedding i went to years ago has Arkansas beat by a mile... one of my dad's employees (a complete hillbilly) invited us to his wedding. they held it in front of his trailer house, they wore "tux" t-shirts, and the father of the groom followed the bride and her father down the "aisle" wearing cutoff jeans and a Houston Rockets jersey, with a boombox on his shoulder blasting out "Here comes the bride", while carrying a Pabst Blue Ribbon. oh, and they had tires on their roof to hold the tarp down that keeps rain out of their living room.

Pigeons actually look really fascinating - the variation possible is just mind-boggling. Are chickens similar?

yeah, i don't want to derail the thread and put pictures... but yes there are several hundred different breeds and with every breed, there are another 20-30 different color variations that breed true...

i also have pigeons... i have a breeding pair of rare egyptian swifts, and valencian figuritas... and two different types of quails...

LOL....

i have too many birds and live in los angeles county where they aren't allowed... fail...
