Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: something

I use Lake I/O Boa touring shoes as my road bike shoes.

I live at home.

I struggle with food sometimes.

Sometimes when I ride I speak my thoughts out loud. Other times I sing.

I keep extra valve caps and washer nuts in my saddle bag. Just in case I lose one during a roadside repair....

I have no idea how to use the valve core extracter thingy (or whatever it is) that is on the valve stem cap of my tubes, but I keep transfering them when I put new tubes on because I think they look cool.

You eat lobster while it's still alive? Watch out for those claws!

Correct.

Then again having graduated less then 1 week ago from undergrad it is not the most shameful thing in the world. Get back to me about the shame in a year though.

This is way, way too much information.

My mechanical skills resulted in me needing to run my bike to the LBS for a quick adjustment after I changed a tire.
I did not start riding again until the first week of May.
I am going to ride for Team in Training in honor of my Aunt's sister, a fifteen year survivor of blood cancer.

when i turned 27 last october, i called my parents and told them they have 3 years to dig a basement under their house. if i'm 30 and not living in my parents' basement i'd consider myself a complete failure at life. not sure what i'm going to do with my wife when the time comes.

I used to sing when I skied. I'd get to the bottom of a run and my dad would ask what I was singing...I'd say "I was singing?"

Last night: first, a stupid-looking shirtless kid bobbing like a bad boxer on a WalMart "mountain bike" passed me. Of course I laid into it and left that doofus in my dust, but... Later, a tall guy wearing a t-shirt and sitting upright on a cheap commuter bike passed me and I never did put him back. I'm officially designating last night's ride a "Recovery Ride"

A couple of them were kind of hot, but their music was pretty annoying. That Aqua song though, that was just funny.

Sporty and Scary didn't do anything for me but Ginger, Posh and Baby made 'em worth watchin'...with my adolescent daughters of course.

*edit* carp...i guess that means my confession needs to be: I can name all the Spice Girls.
