Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think that the whole evolution of a road bicycle since DT shifters is primarily based on marketing hype. Quality has suffered in a big way.

TIP:

If you want to advance something, don't discard things that matter. Use stairs.

My main concern during deer season is that the best county forest trail areas around my house also allow hunting...

I'm generally in favour of shared-use land but hunting could maybe get separated from hiking/biking/dog walking/horseback riding/geo-caching, etc...

It only takes one drunk idiot thinking "hey that there deer is wearing a funny helmet... BANG"

Oscar?

You named your bike Oscar? How did he get that name? I suppose I can't make too much fun, I named mine Veronica.

The young girl I mentioned having a crush on in my last confession? We've been dating for two months now and I can't get enough of her.
Pretty sure I was already going to #311 for something else; might as well be happy in the meantime.

Posting pics of your gf on the internet is the shortest path to calamity & woe.

(But you can find some of us posted by someone else in the SoCal subforum with a little searching... )

PBR was once considered a premium beer. The producer marked it down to promote it and people assumed that is was not such a good beer after all. It has never overcome that.
Business students study this.

I sometimes catch myself staring at a handsome man's ass in spandex for too long.

Hey, I read that and immediately thought that sounds like the Simcoe county forests are my place, then I looked at your location and could see why.

Unlike many other beers during that time, PBR is still around, and having a major resurgence.
The lesson business students should take from this is You'll never go broke in America catering to the lowest common denominator. (Or to latent *****exuals, apparently.)

And the company is, as far as I can tell, not even trying to promote the resurgence.

Go figure.

I keep some PBRs in my fridge during the summer. When I come in from a ride or mowing the lawn and I'm HOT there is nothing like a very, very cold PBR in a frozen mug!

Bikes: The two wheeled kind

I read every post up through page 13 before posting.

I don’t know how to fix my bike if it breaks.

I don’t understand all the jargon on this board (e.g. What’s a Fred? This probably means I am one.)

I shop at Performance but take my bikes to my LBS for service.

I can’t rationalize spending $3,000 on a bike but I still want one.

I hate being passed…even by cars.

I occasionally bunny hop on my road bike to avoid seams that I think will cause a flat.

My mistake. Musta missed the invitation to your coming-out party.
So... it's less rude to stare at some handsome dude's tight botox in spandex for too long?
