Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Old Steelies I made, Old Cannondales

I bought a slightly used Six-13 frame to build up as my new race bike, but couldn't be bothered, so it's still in the box 6 months later. Anyone wanna buy it ?

I don't have urges to upgrade my bikes.

I prefer shorts to bibs (never noticed waistband, shoulder straps are annoying)

I spend more money on bike gear than on my girlfriend. I got my girlfriend started in cycling and now she almost matches my expenses. Together I reason that I'm spending money on gear for us or I just buy cool stuff for her.

I valiantly justified a larger fit of an online bike deal, off of ebay no less (although new, smooth order, no problem)

I stopped being interested at Mint because I have a flawless record at blowing my bike budget

But most of all...
I don't show enough gratefulness, gratitude and love to my girlfriend who probably picked up cycling only to spend more time with me

Although its what I tell people who ask, Clyde Sefton did not sell his bike to me at the airport.

I don't know who Clive Sefton is.

I don't "get" most pop culture chit chat (don't watch much tv or movies).

I'm afraid I won't ever get fast enough to be a real part of the team I just joined.

Now that I'm getting more serious, I daydream about upgrading to something *fancy,* but am afraid of looking like a fool with too much money to spend on too much bike.

Bikes: Yes

I spend too much money on cycling. It's still a fraction of what the avg BFer spends. I'm cheap.

I like my truck. I want a bigger one. I don't care about MPG.

I used to like LA. Still admire his accomplishments.

I spend too much time on BF while working (or instead of working?)

I've spent far more money on books than on bike stuff this year.

I've spent a whole lot more time reading than riding this year.

I'm finding it impossible to teach my autistic daughter how to ride without training wheels. Its getting me down.

I'd rather go to a guitar store than a bike shop.

I enjoy eating out. I enjoy eating in. I enjoy eating, period.

My wife loves me cuz I'm tall, dark, handsome...and considerate.

I often have to watch people die in my line of work, but it rarely bothers me.

I believe I was the first on this forum to shorten patentcad to pcad. Though, at the time, it was p-cad. I now kinda blame myself for encouraging his behavior.

I've been awake since yesterday, so I'm going to bed.

And it actually works? If you use it the right way it works, but if you use it the "intuitive" way it sucks.

Confession? OK, here goes:

I love the nightlife. I've got to boogie on the disco 'round...

OH! You mean bike-related confession? My bad...umm...my mountain bike's abilities far outstrip my own and as a function of that, it is hanging in the garage.

Hmm...does anyone else feel awkward?

Whenever I encounter children learning to ride bikes with their parents, I ride past them no-handed.

Bikes: 2012 Guru Praemio R - 2001 Jamis Ventura - 1990 Specialized Hard Rock (with original tires) - 2012 Trek Cobias

My Specialized hard Rock from 1990 still has its original tires on. No routine maintenance had been done on it either (FD, RD, Cable adjustment.) It also has the original chain and cassette and I use it to haul my daughter's Burly trailer.

Great clubs! I have a set my dad passed down to me. I still get funny looks when I pull out my wooden 5 wood and hit it 280 yards!

I digress...my confession: I have been cycling since the beginning of the year. I've never ridden more than 15 miles at a time on my Allez Triple that I got on sale for $499 in December. I average less than one ride per week. Yet I still justified buying a set of Soul 3.0's.

I don't miss the infamous bf exiles at all. Who the hell wants to be arguing with fly-weights-with-baggage all the time?

Yes. I have found answers to several questions using the advanced search function.
