Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just finished this evening's trainer session. 8 x 1 minute high cadence intervals.

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/129144579

Also did 40 minutes on the stairmaster this morning.

Saw the Garmin-Cervelo guys heading out and coming back from the team ride today. Everyone is in town for tomorrow and staying at the St Julien.

I'll be too busy to ride bikes anyway. Our work flow here is off the hinges. I starting to think the U.S. economy may be considerably better than everybody gives it credit for, the Euro crisis notwithstanding.

halfspeed posted this elsewhere - a blow to any Cervelo/SRAM fanatics... not that I can think of any of those

Garmin-Cervélo switches to Shimano

The most damning thing is the fact that Shimano isn't even sponsoring the team in any way - the team is buying the groups.

I do like Sram, but only because Campy has those stupid thumb levers. I wouldn't be surprised if they all started riding Felts again, with Cervelo, and their senior citizen head tubes causing their riders to do stuff like this:

I think my S2 will be the last Cervelo product I ever purchase.

So are we going to let that 3,000,000 post thread die?

It's off page one already.

What happened to the Fibromyalgia thread? Locked?

Had a really nice night ride this evening with a couple of buddies. Started out at 42 degrees, ended at 35 degrees. Oh so much better than setting on the trainer.

He's about a year old, and I am very attached to him. Stupid to be attached to an amphibian, but he eats out of my hand and swims through my fingers when I put them in the tank. I love the look of saltwater, but I'm afraid of what you said - being gone for any length of time can cause serious issues. Someday...

Me and my old high school best bud Az saw J. Fogerty live in concert @ the Beacon in NYC tonight. He played every Creedence song I can think of plus a bunch amazing covers of songs like 'Pretty Woman'. One of the more kickass shows I've ever seen. Now I can die happy. You drummers would have really appreciated the K. Aranoff percussion clinic going on behind Mr. Fogerty.

Fogerty is 66. Good grief that was one of the absolute highest energy live performances you can possibly imagine. Amazing. It was friggin epic.

Az and I hooked up after 20 years on Facebook, he flew up from FL just to visit and see this show with me. So FB is good for something.

You want some Tebow? Move here. Tim Tebow football. Tim Tebow all the time. Oh, and we have a team called the Bronco's, that were somehow involved in this stuff.

I gotta say, pcaddie - this kid's a winner, just like his big bro- uh, just like his pal, Jesus.

Actually, I have to admit to liking the kid, even though Jesus is, literally, the first and last person that he thanks at a post-game conference. His throwing mechanics are ugly, but he does have a nose for the win.

As much as I want a Cervelo.....no thanks. Definitely with this Shimano deal. It shows that Shimano is not willing to sponsor Cervelo and Cervelo does not want SRAM that bad.

I think my next bike will have Ui2....Any huge difference between Di2 and Ui2?

when I lived in Denver, I grew to LOATHE the Broncos, because of the Elway worship. Now all the fans there have the second coming. For whatever reason people in Denver deify their QBs
