Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I then get pulled over by an officer, he flashes his lights and pulls me over on my MTB. Described my description basically dead on! Worst yet is this girl is supposedly 11 years old!! So to make a long story short, i get arrested and booked into jail for sexual assault on a child. Now I have my lawyer and I have to fight this for something I didnt do! Which is going to get really interesting real fast! This is by far the weirdest and the most BS thing I have ever had happened to me yet anyway!
that was a really odd sounding story..not very convincing

Ooh, one more I almost forgot...

Years ago I was riding my mtn bike alone through the country side of Germany outside Darmstadt. Apparently I zigged when I should have zagged and ended up on a beautiful fire road that I had failed to notice was a private farm. I faintly heard yelling behind me so I stopped and waited for an enraged German man to catch up to me. After his 2 minute rant in German, I told him I only spoke in English. In broken English and with every expletive he knew, he told me off, said he was going back to get his gun, grabbed my bike from me and went to throw it into the ravine parallel the road. As he thew it, I reached out and grabbed the saddle, threw the bike under me, and sprinted off fueled by the biggest adrenaline rush I've ever experienced.

The funny part: I passed his wife standing in the road on my sprint out of there who gave me the sweetest smile and guten tag.

I was climbing a local hill and a really big bug flew straight into my mouth. It went so deep that I just made the decision to swallow it as quickly as possible and then flush it down with as much water as possible.

This isn't exactly out-of-this-world crazy but last year I was riding along 9W, the hugely popular route in for us NYC riders. It's a week day and not a lot of traffic, bike or car. A car comes from behind and passes and as he continues past I hear a sort of cracking noise and think to myself, "kind of a weird sound for a car". A few seconds later the cracking gets even louder--can't be the car, it's long gone--and a fairly large tree branch falls across the shoulder and maybe a little bit into the driving lane about 50 yards in front of me . Perfectly calm day, I guess the branch just got tired.

I've run into Lance a couple of times. Last time he had Taylor Phinney in tow - that was kind of cool.

Weirdest though - I was riding alone on a country road and as I pass some trees I hear 'hello'. I look around but don't see anyone. I start riding a little more and I hear a wolf whistle. I look around and still don't see anyone. Now my interest is piqued (must've been the wolf whistle ) so I turn around and go back and stop. Still don't see anyone. Then I hear a rather loud 'HELLO' from above me. I look up and see a huge Macaw in the tree. Looked like he was tethered to a branch in the shade with food and water. Must have belonged to someone working on the property. Pretty bird and chatty too - a couple other cyclists went by while I was checking him out and he said hello to them too.

Identical situation here as well (minus the tongue inflating like a football, you must be allergic )

Don't kid yourself. If you're even suspected of certain crimes just because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, life can get really miserable regardless of a total lack of evidence. On my way out to Queen Creek AZ from Apache Junction, there is a long stretch that goes through the wilderness. It was along this stretch that a red tailed hawk came up alongside of me and began to have a conversation with me. It didn't seem to be agitated, and kept up the chatter for several miles. It would fly ahead of me for a spell and then lag back again all the while "talking" to me. I began to talk to it too.
I tried to get a picture but couldn't get it done while ridding and figured if I stop it would fly away, which it finally did anyway. I figured it must have been someones pet at one time and I reminded it of who ever it was.

Here it goes kinda long, In my youth a few of us were at a bar drinking, we had our bikes with us and as we were on the way home one guy crashes and dislocates is little finger looked bad got him to the hospital and got to watch the surgeon put his finger back together. Ok the good part, he had a huge bandage on his hand and once again we were out drinking this time at a local biker bar when this guy standing at the bar looks at my friend and says "Hey partner what happened to your hand" Friend says fell off my bike ,guy says "Aww man bummer" tells bartender to get us whatever we wanted put it on his tab. So we drinking biker guy is in the back with bike"r chicks and guys shooting pool and waves now and then and checks on us , even invite us back to the club house to play cards .Everything is going great until he comes up to get a beer and he is between me and my friend with his arm on our backs and says "Hey partner what kind of bike do you ride" and i thought oh no! My friend looks at him and said 'A Schwinn Touristor' I felt the guys arm slip now my back and then in disbelief he says A F ING SCHWINN as he was going to the back to get his biker guys and gals. I said iam out of here as they chased us but we made it to the car just in time.

Red tail hawks and other birds of prey sometimes follow cyclist because we scare up prey on the road side for them. That's my theory anyway. I've been followed by them a couple times too although usually they're a ways above me.

Beautiful bird. As you can see from my avatar, I'm a parrot guy. That's a Senegal parrot in my avatar pic. Lotsa smaller than a Macaw. That bird could probably chew that tree apart if it feels like it.

Regardless, the OP's post didn't sound like the ramblings of an innocent man. If you'd really just randomly been arrested for sexual assault on a child, would you be posting about it on bike forums? Also, why mention what type of bike you were riding, the reason why you were heading home (wife returning from Omaha???), or the fact that you had no idea why the cops were stopping you? I'm skeptical here because the post set off a lot of red flags you'd look for when someone's lying.

I like parrots and have thought about getting an African Grey. However given the things my dogs and cat have seen me do I'm not sure I want a pet that can talk....

We have a "wild" flock of escapee parrots here by my house. Last count there were about 12 of them flying around. Pretty cool to watch them fly by. Noisy little guys.

Was riding a country road when all the sudden a dog was chasing me! A large black lab from a nearby farm had seen me and started to chase. Haha. He was pretty fast, and was running right down the center of the road. Luckily no cars were coming. and I got away

With me, it's lightning. A while back, I went out for a ride. A thunderstorm blew up while I was out. I thought I could probably make it home even if it rained, so I just kept going.

Next thing I know: ZZZZZZIPBOOOM. just like that, lightning so close I swear I heard the sizzle. I went a little faster, and a few minutes later, it happened again, just like that.

At that point, I figured the Great Sky Thunderer was getting my range, and a strategic withdrawal was in order. I got to the nearby Nature Center and called my sister to come get me.

A couple of years ago, after I started riding again after a long hiatus, I got caught in ANOTHER storm. I was hanging back trying to wait for the worst of the lightning to pass (and yes, I was kinda under a tree), when I saw lightning hit a transformer about a block up the street from me.

As soon as there was a tiny break I hopped back on the bike and zoomed as fast as my slow legs would take me to a c-store nearby. Got there just before the sky opened up and poured absolute buckets. With more lightning. I stayed under cover till the worst passed that time.

I don't ride where there's storms anymore if I can help it.

Lucky you were not the one hit, not sure what type of material your bike is made of, but any type of metal to conduct electricity, and you would have been the rod for it to hit.
