There's very little chance anything is going to change, and there's no small dose of irony in you thinking you're 'fine' or don't need to work through your issues around this. That you can't just let it go without some weak attempt at 'closure' simply points to the fact that you're stuck. There's a manipulative and unhealthy force in your life that repeatedly draws you into a pattern of behavior that is not skillful. Yet you keep rationalizing reasons for moving the 'it's over' line, even so much as couching it (again and again) as this time I mean it. You owe her nothing. She is bad for you. If you see her you are making a mistake. Writing her, any more than a few words saying it's over, is a mistake. Just text her and block her number. You simply do not have the skills you need to navigate this. You've demonstrated this time and again.

I realize that I was suffering from low self-esteem that was placed on me by this girl via her own issues. I know she is bad for me, and I know it must end. I also know I don't owe her anything. I do still care for her, and I do want her to make herself better. I want her to be happy. I just don't want her in my life any longer.

I know I should hate her for what she has done. I just can't. Again shutting off all communication will not work. I've tried that before. This conversation that we will have today must be it, or the letter must be sent.

I've learned a lot of lessons from all of this. I really thank all of you. I'm not even mad about it. I am just disappointed.

You don't want her in your life any longer yet you're eager to go see her and find out what she's going to say and do in response to your proclamation? Is this some misguided attempt to prove to yourself or to others that you can handle her? Or are you just in deep denial?

My god, I would not spend the effort on my best friend that you are all spending on this breakup. If somebody asks for advice, you give it, and they repeatedly ignore it, then they are unteachable. He will either figure it out on his own or continue to flail.

I don't want to handle her. I don't want her in my life any longer. I know she doesn't love me or even understand the word. I don't want to see her fail either. I can see her going down the same road as RUOkie's wife, and loosing her medical license, and ruining her life. I understand it is her problem, not mine. I basically want to tell her I understand it all, and I can finally move on, and I want her to recognize her problem, and try to fix herself. I'd like to hear from her in a few years, and see she is happy, and married to someone else living a fulfilled life, which is what I would like for myself as well. I know her happiness is not my problem, but I don't want to see her go on like this.
