Shoveled the snow since it was all of 2" deep and then went for a relatively easy 25.

Attempting to move quickly through deep snow is quite a workout, even with snowshoes.

The NFL is dead to me.

Waiting for premium rush to finish downloading. I don't have high expectations with it.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't a great movie but it wasn't terrible.

RUOkie 12-30-12 06:16 PM

I'm going to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1) on DVD.

Don't judge me

LowCel 12-30-12 06:17 PM

I'm watching "Finding Bigfoot". Nothing makes me feel better about myself than watching this show.

We have seen them all. Kids say part 2 is better. I agree with them.

Herbie53 12-30-12 07:21 PM

The Exorcist is on Retroplex.. which we are still getting for some reason.

Watched Ocean's Eleven (2001) tonight.

This season made Elway look like a genius. At least, the local media is giving him all the credit.

I've already seen them all. :(

Made it through all of 5 minutes of premium rush, then shut it off, too bad.

While the LOTR geek in me would absolutely love that it would be a different can of worms to open up.

Yesterday was a low key day for me - I watched "Ride the Divide" and "Hell on Wheels" back to back. That was a good day.

Gotta wait for the roads to soften up a bit. Snowed through last night and it's still only 24ºF here. The biggest impediment to riding in the winter isn't the cold, it's the road ice, and then it's particularly the ice riding down Mt. Doom. I don't like to park my car at the bottom of the road here (the main road is always much more clear immediately after storms). But I may have to do that later.

Foot of snow in the yard, low twenties. This is a more normal winter here. Last winter was like winter in NC around here it was so warm. I gauge it by the bike path. Last winter we only lost it for 3 days or so (they don't plow it). In a bad winter it's unrideable for 2+ months. That's how it looks this winter. Unless there is a prolonged thaw, that MUP will be iced over for a long time.

I completely agree about the ice being a much bigger factor in winter riding; the cold you can bundle up for but ice is far more precarious. When I commute in the winter the ride home in the dark can be treacherous the next day after a snow event if it gets cold enough to freeze. Dodging ice while riding in traffic isn't fun so I don't take those chances anymore, instead I wait until most of it is gone from the roads and hop on the trainer in the meantime.

patentcad 12-30-12 08:25 PM

A knobby tired MTB makes riding on snowy/icy roads fully possible. I rode 18 miles today (longer than it sounds when you're on an MTB in low 20s temps and 30 mph winds on snow drifted roads) and never really felt unstable on the MTB, even riding over lots of drifted snowpack on the wind exposed roads around here. I would have crashed 3x on a road bike, hell I might have given up and gone home the roads were so dicey.

truckstop 12-30-12 08:26 PM

So, since the Packers lost, does that mean there's absolutely no chance of idiots jumping off of snowbanks, running around in the street, and blaring horns at the intersection in front of our house after the super bowl? (Meaning, are they out?)

There's still a chance of that after the Rose Bowl, but the Badgers lose every year.

I believe this show to be incredibly high level satire. I believe the three principals are pulling off a practical joke to a level never before seen on television.

Because they couldn't really be that obtuse.
