If it shifts well, it is full of win. That has yet to be seen.

ls01 01-20-13 09:22 AM

How light is it?

ls01 01-20-13 09:28 AM

Does the collective have an opinion on easton wheels? ea 70's? $ is 400.00 1650 grams with skewers, new.

BillyD 01-20-13 09:50 AM

My thing is this - if I lost or gained 5 lbs, even 10, I wouldn't even notice it. No matter whether I was walking or riding, up a hill or on a flat, it would be inconsequential.

Okay Ferris.

Seriously? If I gain 10# I notice it with everyday activities. When I'm lighter (like I am now) I ride/run/swim faster with less effort. Walking up stairs is easier.

You need to play closer attention to your body m

So..
If anyone would like a bottle of New York State Fair Speedies Marinade, PM me your address. Ideally it is legal to ship the stuff, and won't get the USPS cops knocking on my door. I would then have to play the "My mother-in-law is a retired post master" card, which may or may not get me anything.

So, that's the recommended marinade, Roll?

Do they sell it at Wegmans?

Velo Vol 01-20-13 10:08 AM

I thought everyone in New York shops at Piggly Wiggly, rjones28.

Ok maybe 10 lbs is a stretch (for dramatic effect) - I notice it in my belts, still not in performance. But 5 lbs I don't notice in any way.

Velo Vol 01-20-13 10:13 AM

I would be faster if I lose five pounds. Should I join the church weight loss group?

10 lbs is a lot. You would notice 10 lbs sitting in a chair if it came off of you and you had been over weight. I recently lost 7 lbs and could tell on yesterdays ride. Saying that the motor makes a bigger difference than light weight is like saying round wheels work better than square.
A lighter rider/bike is always going to be better than a heavy bike/rider at the same power. With the pos. exception of stability. when I moved from my 19+ lbs. Madone to my 17 ish lbs. Giant TCR Advanced, the difference was night and day, especially while climbing what few hills we have around here. I went from being shot out the back, to last in,IN, the group. Then when I switched from the advanced to the Tarmac, the difference was again plainly evident but not as large as the previous difference. The change in bikes was a few oz. higher but better fit and stiffness.
Weight ALWAYS makes a difference, otherwise we would still be riding gas pipe schwinns. Power to weight ratio's dont come with a , below this point do not apply, asterisk.
Now if you are just saying that weight doesnt matter...and the engine is more important... to justify running that heavy old kludgy Shimano groupset, well you should have said so from the begining.

Bill, you not noticing is not the same as quantifiable.

That is the premier label, original stuff. I normally just get the Wegman's brand, but for you guys, I'd go top shelf.

I am trying to ween myself from Wegman's, and move to Tops. However, Price Chopper is always the best place for seafood. That is all.

My mom used to shop at Piggly Wiggly, when we lived in Illinois. I just looked it up. No more Piggly Wiggly in Princeton, IL. Looks like some place called Sullivans now and a Super Wal-Mart out by I-80.

coasting 01-20-13 10:36 AM

My 5.5 lbs loss was so obvious today. I went back to the climbing wall and I went up so much more quickly. Only 5.5 lbs and I felt totally different. The other people including the instructor noted how much more easily I was moving.

Velo Vol 01-20-13 10:39 AM

Hey coasting,

I want to lose 5.5 pounds. What should I do, coasting?
