I think we'll be getting that storm tomorrow.

Something to look forward to.

Man, that's rough LC. And from coumadin, a medication millions of people take daily without a problem for years. That's just awful. Very sorry to hear that. Hope he comes around.

A very dangerous drug-1% yearly mortality, that is a higher mortality than most most major surgical procedures.

Holy crap.

Speaking of crap, 1 good BM would put you down a substantial %age of your body weight.

How does walking exacerbate acid reflux? Asking for a friend.

Tell him or her to stop walking on their hands and they will be fine.

Don't get medical advice on the internet btw.

I've had a bit of an issue with possible reflux the last couple years--enough to prompted me to read about it. What coasting said doesn't square with my advanced Internet medical studies.

Seems like walking would be OK for most folks to me also. I only get it when I eat too much too close to bedtime.

I'd rather stick with raining frogs, personally.

So sad to hear of your Dad, LowCel. My thoughts are with you.

We only got about 10" of snow. I feel a little let down.

A bit chilly for shorts, but I HTFU and rode anyway.

Along the way, my shoe didn't feel quite normal. Upon my return home, I discovered a penny inside. Guess that was it.

rjones28 02-09-13 05:32 PM

Spent most of the day blazing snowshoe trails with Benson. It was too chilly for shorts.

Holistic medicine.

Noticed a bunch of orange/white/yellow flags outside the Buddhist temple. What's up?

I heard what you said and I'm making a note of it in my big book of retribution.

I totally know it is reflux exacerbated by walking. I think it is the up and down jolts. Once I was on a good longish ride and I felt great and then I had to get off and walk a little way over a bridge and the pain came came up within a few steps. Then I got back on the bike after some antacids and all was well again. I also notice that walking after a totally oil free meal is never a problem but an oily meal or a meaty meal would be a killer. It is getting better though. I don't know if it is the cleaner eating or the weight loss but it feels a whole lot easier. I used to wake up with the pain and now I have no pain after sleeping.

Visiting family in eastern N. C. Beautiful weather, I got to knock out a 52 mile today. Felt great!!

coasting 02-09-13 06:14 PM

It's funny how I always assumed it was being fat that caused it but my cousin in law is a marathon runner and he rides a century most weekends. He came to Taiwan on a business trip and we went out for dinner and he couldn't finish his burger and couldn't drink beer because of reflux. He says it is an age thing not a fat thing because he is thin and about 6ft 6.
