Correct. The frame probably has 10K miles on it. My LBS will list it saying it has 2000 miles on it because they know iJen learned how to track mileage from me and it will bring $1300-$1500 or so.

Spare me the moral soap box lectures you idiots. All's fair in love, war and eBay. You buy used bike crap, you deserve what you get. Actually the dollars people are willing to drop on old bike crap I would throw in a dumpster is a continual source of wonder for me.

coasting 03-18-13 11:31 AM

i hear you, pcad. i'm amazed at second hand buyers. just buy new lower level stuff. it's all good.

Hope it doesn't involve counseling... So far today you've questioned my military record, and now you're calling Pcad an idiot. In business you have to do better than 50%. Now baseball, that's a different story...like the mets for example...

In a weird sense, that frame has sentimental value. It was following the anticipation and rue thread that kept me sane.

It would be kinda cool to own that actual bike.

The government strictly controls competition.

Do bicycle frames wear out from miles ridden?

That's what I was wondering. If there are no cracks, what difference does it make if a frame has 10,000 miles or 30,000 miles?

How much selling does that involve?

I would imagine that the hardest part by far is trying to deal with the insurance and Medicare/Medicaid establishment. I can't even imagine what a nightmare that must be.

I figure the bright side is his bedside manner would offer an upside to a terminal illness diagnosis.

That frame is fine. Whoever buys it will be very happy.

Especially when it has thousands more miles on it than advertised.

Carbon fiber is durable enough to support airplanes for millions of miles. I learned it in the 41.
