Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I prefer the sidi plastic sole. not too stiff....like my old Carnacs.

sidi 'energy' have the carbon sole.....I can't really tell the difference between the stiffness of the 'genius' & the 'energy'......so $ being tight......plus I got mine super cheap...only prob is they are bright yellow!.....which would be fine but the bikes are 'blue/white' & 'red/white'!....but cheap is cheap.....& i'm colour blind so it's only other people who have to look at 'em!

Nice of Michele Bartoli to retire and free up some cash so CSC can grab Luke Roberts.
Pity the bloke on his wheel in the TTT.....worse than following Sean Yates or Andrei Tchmil.

Morning Lads. Just got back from my ride to Mornington. Man the weather's sensational right now. I broke my record for Oliver's Hill...76.2kph...wahooooo, it was awesome overtaking cars for a change. This was all made possible cause I put my old CXP-33's on with 11-23 gearing.

On an angry note I got overtaken some young bike shop rider today. As customary, I said "g'day, good day for it", and the farken little KNOB didn't even look in my direction, so I said it louder and the little F*CK just went up a gear and got out of his seat and cranked. Wattsy was angry so wattsy also cranked and then sat in his draft to Mordialloc. I didn't care that my heart rate was 180 - 194 all the way, I wasn't going to let the little pr!ck go. Top speed into the breeze was 45 kph but he was working as hard as I was.

I haven't had a chance to follow Sean Yates or Andrei Tchmil yet, are they a bad wheel? Should I avoid them, or even avoid their entire teams?

I always give a little wave or say hello. That's how I was brought up on the road. But these days? Road riding can be such an toff elitist wankfest sometimes, it makes me wanna puke. Competitiveness often brings out the worst in people, I must say.

Last night, these three older guys, who had more hair and less "condition" on their legs than my
Grandma, not only snobbed me off, they tried to drag me!! I nearly started laughing, but I just sat
5 meters behind them singing really loudly along to Roger Voudouris on "seven from the seventies" on Gold...
Yeah, that's right..GOLD FM! You tried listening to Triple M lately? It's turned into a fukn talk station.

When I was younger I tried to get some so I could be a pose, riding around with no
pockets, pretending to be a tracky.

The new red a black stuff looks a bit crappy -- it makes all their arses look a wierd shape

I like the Richmond Cyclery stuff, the Kathy Watt stuff, the Mainline stuff, but most of the others
are ordinary.
