Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ah, didn't know he was a Hell Ride regular.

Did he win much?

You must've raced him on the track in the early 90s?

I reckon he just does that for some quick advertising, then rushes back to the shop
to jack up the latte prices for when all you suckers get back.

it's been done.....not easily, you know, laws of physics and all.

I remember him racing at Northcote one night being carried out into the track centre on a sedan chair by some girls in bikinis....then throwing Kennedy bidons into the crowd. Gold.

I usually only drink on other people's time, or if I'm stuck at a boring wedding

Or at some boring cycling trophy/cheque presentation where you've been spat out the back and have crawled in just as the ceremonies start... just like Hitchy, eh?

OK.....I'd assumed that you were commenting on my coming in on "melb to warnambool " about 1.5hrs after the winner....I was pointing out that, that may well be the case....but I've done one more 'warnie' than you!

Geez... I thought you were talking about Shanie Warnie... flippers, scooters, skidders and the like. It thought the skyrocket was another one he was pulling out of his repertoire.

Ah heck... back on cricket again.

We did try.

However, I HAVE done Anglesea to Warnie, and beyond to Halls Gap and beyond there to Moyston, and back again. I've probably covered more distance than you...

How big was your skyrocket again?
