Hmm, tough to be objective.
Where are you from?
You can't beat Melbourne's Beach Road.
But seriously, I can not stand doing hard rides in the heat. The ideal "hammering" day for me is about 14 degrees. The last time I went to Sydney, the humidity nearly killed me (naturally, I took a bike with me).
And Brisbane.....I would drop dead of heat stroke on my first ride.

Bikes: how long have you got?
g'day,
wish I had the ability to choose where i lived based on my cycling!....anyway, agree with '531', melbourne is the cycling mecca of Aus...If you can cope with winter. I live out toward the Macedon ranges....god designed this area with cyclists in mind. Plenty of hills, plenty of undulating stuff, a nice mix of flats etc...not much traffic & a zillion different training routes....I'm blessed........just wish it was a little warmer in winter!,
cheers,
Hitchy

I hope you have these in your favourites:

this one gives you up to date temperatures around Victoria:

Hmmm...11 degrees at Coldstream -- not too bad.

I went for a little ride yesterday. Nearly coughed up a lung ( stoopid cold ) but felt stong - it was almost warm too.
To be honest I'm a bit sick of Melbourne, although I have to agree, I do like riding when it's between about 20 degrees. If you moved to Brisvegas, you'd be begging for Summer to end, but down here, you're begging for Winter to end, so you're dammed either way. As for Sydney, well, driving is a nightmare is Sydney, so I can't imagine ever cycling there. Plus, if I moved to Sydney I'd probably turn into a yuppie and do something in 'marketing', so there's little chance of that happening.
I hear the Alice is nice this time of year

a mate of mine was up there last year for the Aus. masters champs....he reckons its God's gift to cyclists at the right time of the year...totally flat, reasonable road surfaces, not to much traffic........he hadda bitta trouble fitting the bullbar to the Colnago, but apart from that.........

I'd rather ride in 36degrees and 80% humidity.

I am from BrisVegas but since I left my sister moved to Sydney and my brother moved to Mellers. I have a lot of family down there in Victoria and I really love the city but yeah I would hate the winter ... and in Brisso, coming back from New England I think I wouldn't handle the summer too well either... but that's where the oldies are...
Good point about the Sydney traffic ... probably would be a bit nasty.
Cheers

I fell asleep too. I hate to say it, but this years tour was a yawnfest. I don't even really care who won the final stage.
Okay, maybe a little bit
I think the highlight for me was knowing that Robbie knows how to pop a wheelie.

Yeah, it'd be nice if we could all afford to bust our frames and forks
Jeez, O'Grady's not bad, is he? He's always up there around 5th or so.

Don's ask me, I'm running old school Vinyl Bike Ribbon bar tape.....with a layer of inner tube underneath to cushion/fatten things up. It's the hot set-up according to the experts ( namely, me )
