I guess I should pay the extra $100 and get something better?
The A3.1's were about $170 to buy, but I'm hoping he'll give them to me for $100 if I go that way.

$170 is list on the 3.1's...so pump for a better deal, but remember the its the price of the overall deal that matters not the individual components...don't forget the C/card thing...if its not costing him anything, he'll go for it. Just confirm with your mate that he's not getting Keo's...the cleets aren't compatible with any other Look pedal. (worst case, you can just whip the pedals off...2min job) Any other Look pedals are all cross compatible...so when ya doing it....today?

Mate. He's getting an OCR2. I don't think he'll be putting keo's on it.
Yeah, I'll go down and see them at lunch. Geez I feel bad for the Orange mob though.

I've been known to wear skirts on the odd occasion, so guilty as charged.
Hey quick question. Looking at the Shimano and Look sites, look quotes a per pedal weight where shimano just give a weight. That shimano figure's for both right?

before we help you...the comittee of management of 'The aussie thread' have a few questions & initiation you need to go thru. the questions are designed to prove you are an Aussie & not some overseas scammer trying to infiltrate the ranks.....OK you ready?
Q1. Why did we re elect little Johnnie?
Q2. Describe the mating call of the crow?
Q3. Who did Wayne carey root?
now.....submit your answers. Then drop your pants (wherever you are now) & run around the table. you are hereby elected an Aussie....now, what was the question again?

i dont think ive heard the mating call of the crow and dont know how to make crow sounds using keyboard but im doing it right now, unless of course your refering to wayne carey, but i think he'd "give us a blow love" after 15 beers he is no david boon 52 all the way
wayne carey got busted shagging his best mates wife, but he probably has had a go of all the kangaroo players, wish they killed him when crows played nth mel.
lucky no ones here to see my drop my pants, i was also shirtless, melbourne is nice today.

I'm a pom ex-pat living amongst the seppos and I've been told that I've got more australian cousins than english ones but that's besides the point. A quick 5 minute google search for 'research purposes' at work gave me the answers to your questions so you might want to think up some stricter criteria

The Legend of Boon
Written by Dean Jones
The 1989 Ashes tour did not start off properly as it should have. My father insisted
on me to take some time and sit next to David Boon and ask him how he will prepare
himself for this most important tour. Boonie had plenty of advice for me as we had just
left Singapore and we had just finished our 22nd can of beer. David was just settling in
for a good session and I was looking worse for wear. Boonie was in no doubt chasing Rod
Marsh's record of 46 cans from Sydney to London, which defeated Doug Walters' record of
44 cans. Realising my state of fitness and lack of health and my poor balance I decided to
draw up a roster system to find Boonie some drinking partners. After contacting every player,
I decided sleep was the best remedy for my health.
Eight hours later I woke up to this tumultuous round of applause with the cheers and
congratulations going to our dear "keg on two feet"...David Boon. Hearing this boisterous
applause, our coach (and selector), Bob Simpson, thought Boon had won a big card game.
To Simpson's horror, our captain (Alan Border) got onto the PA system and congratulated
Boonie's fantastic effort by breaking the record with a staggering 52 cans. Simpson
went purple with anger. The difference between Walters, Marsh and Boon was
that Boon walked off the plane, and the others were carried off.
The team went straight to the hotel where we had to go to our first cocktail party
which was for our major sponsor, the Queensland beer company... XXXX!!!! I left Boon,
who was my room mate, at the party, and I went to bed. I later received a call from the
concierge to ask if I could collect Mr Boon because he had passed out in the foyer in the
hotel. On my arrival in the foyer, I quickly realised that Boonie was too heavy to pick up,
so I used the porters' trolley to carry him upstairs. As I entered the lift there was Bob Simpson
who mentioned to me that when David wakes up, he should ring Bob for a "quiet chat".
Well Boonie did not wake up for 36 hours, and missed two training sessions during
his drunken slumber. The team thought it was hilarious and everyone was quite proud to
witness a fantastic accomplishment, except for Simpson. Boonie eventually had that
"quiet chat" with Simpson and was fined $5000, and was an inch away of nearly being sent home.
Boon went on to make over 500 runs for the test series, averaging over 70. I'd say he had
good preparation but I suppose others wouldn't. This feat of 52 cans will never be beaten with
the strict rules in place for touring teams now. In saying that, we as players were still very
professional in everything we did back then. You see, we did the required warm ups and
warm downs even in those days where Boon actually had 3 beers in the lounge in Sydney
before we even got on the plane! Add that with 52 cans from Sydney to London, and 3 pints of
beer at the XXXX function you would dare say that none of the current Australian cricket team
would have the courage or the guts to attempt such a magnificent effort.

Nah, they're pretty good.
Do you want a mountain bike or a road bike?
They're on the souhern side of South Rd., about 300m up from Warrigal Rd., in
the service lane, amongst the panel beaters and stuff.

geez saccy,
you're a hard man to get organised!......Ok the SPD thingys should actually be easier to clip into, cos you can 'get in' on both sides. The looks only have single sided entry. The SPD's will allow you to use MTB or touring shoes, cos the cleet fits inside the sole of some of these. This has advantages if you plan to do a lot of 'cafe racing' & walking in 'em. Downside, they look too much like MTB pedals for mine.....(the ones in the original link you sent) Given that you've ended up spending a few bucks on the bike....I don't think I'd spoil it with some 'el cheapo' pedals......worst case if you can't get a good deal on something better...take the freebies to tide you over & then start 'haunting' ebay for something a little better....theres plenty of 'looks' on there at present relatively cheap.....now JUST DO IT!

I didn't know that Anderson was not only the first guy to use STIs, he was also the guy who workedwith Shimano to help develop them.
