Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

@BillyD, sorry to not make the New Paltz ride. It would have been a hoot to ride into town with you.

So, the weekend looked crappy and I was set to go visit in-laws (who I really like) with the wife and youngest. But tomorrow's forecast improved amazingly, so I am going to shoot for an overnight ride, heading west first, then heading home Sunday with a 15-30 mph tailwind.

Bike is almost packed, and adventure awaits.

Anybody have a C/Y Zeiss 28 f/2.8 (preferably MM) sitting around gathering dust? I'd love one before our little trip to Duluth/north shore in about a month...

This would be very unusual for me five years ago, but I now sit and compose scathing posts in threads that deserve to be scathed for their total and utter banality and sheer inaccuracy... then I delete them.

There is no fun in life anymore.

Oh, I'm already amazed at how fast I've reached how ever old I am (late 30s, can't remember off the top of my head and don't want to do the math).
