Here is a little nicer picture. This bike certainly does not photograph well. The color is much nicer in person. Wait til you see one. There is only one upgrade pending and it is a Contact SLR carbon stem. It will be 120mm once I get used to the new geometry which has not given me any problems. It will be VERY aggressive with time.

This gets my thumbs up.

This is how it photographs with a little bit more natural lighting. I think it looks sexy
. I also dropped the stem a little.

The frame and fork are a 2014 KHS CX100 cross bike, but pretty much everything else has been replaced. So I guess I essentially built a bike off of a frameset.
The shorty fenders are just to help keep the bike a little cleaner-- the junction above the bottom bracket would fill with road gunk something terrible, so I put on the rear fender, then realized the bike looked weird with just one fender. So the vestigial front fender is pretty much just cosmetic.

Well, I just did a century on it yesterday (and 779 miles with 46,500ft of climbing in August) so it holds it's own.

Can't believe I never heard of KHS before (or at least it never made an impression before) - they make a LOT of different bikes! No surprise I haven't seen one around, though, since there is no dealer in the entire NYC metro area.

I want to defend that saddle for the following reasons. It's not a swoopy-tubed bike and the Brooks matches that aesthetic. in fact, I like it better than some of the droopy nose varieties. Watching the Vuelta today one of the riders was suffering from saddle sores and it reminded me that comfort is of prime importance. of course, this observation does not apply to those big gel mattress saddles on your grandma's bike.
