Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, I know. I just wanted to learn how to post big pictures, and it seemed the people on this thread had it figured out. Rocking chair is from ******* Barrel.

I get your point. cheers!

Thank you, I have a few more from different angles as well. The stem and tube set up is changing this winter when I have some time to work on it what would you recommend I know a lot is personal preference but I am somewhat new to the cycling world as I have been a hockey player all my life. . I am going a little different route. Also for the ring that is all changing. I am going to start looking for a different crank set up, maybe a little lighter version with a semi compact or a standard race 53/39.

Thank you, I just picked up the wheels, in the light they have a bluish tint to the spokes.

This thread has ruined me. It is absolutely bugging the hell out of me that the rear tire is lined up with the valve, but the front is not. Spokes look really good on there. Other stuff already mentioned.

Verrry nice! Also hot.

I like the concept but those bars are tilted in a way that all aero benefits are immediately negated.

I was just going to mention that, its a cool looking bike but seat seems lower then handlebars. but to each their own, I am not one to judge

Bikes: not enough

Big Chainring in front..small in rear is preferred for pics
Your tire is not lined up with valve (writing should be near valve)
Crank arm lined up with seat tube is preferred angle... atleast for me.
Bars are kinda tilted up too... but I can let that slide if it allows you to ride
and then there is the pedals...but same as above

No, I cannot let that slide. If platforms are all you have, take them off for the photo shoot!

But this thread was created to judge other people's bikes

tdong's bike is simply not hot, and the wacky bar angle is no small part of it.

Much as already been pointed out. You should set up the bike for you to actually be able to ride it, not for HrN. The real problem is that you bought the wrong size/type of bike for you fitness levels and flexibility
1. Rocket launchers and mismatched cages.
2. Bars rotated so high that the drops probably aren't even usable with a huge spacer stack and flipped up stem
3. Pedals
4. Tire labels not lined up
5. Ugly and excessive chainrings for a road bike
6. Poor cabling job

The seat doesn't have the proper setback for a road bike.

The forward position is designed for a rider who is bearing his weight on his forearms. With road bars, you are now required to sit upright like you would on a beach cruiser. This completely negates any and all benefits of having this bike.

The bar position is comfortable because you redesigned the bike to be ridden in a way it wasn't designed based on making it rideable, despite the fact that it now has an effective top tube length about 5 inches shorter than a road bike would.

The way it sits, you don't get any aero benefit. Less than a proper road bike and way less than a proper tt bike.

Those are some of the wrongs, but the worst is that it looks awkward.

Agreed...I wasn't much of a fan, but what I've been seeing lately, it seems Giant has stepped up their game.
