10/10 would ride it. Seeing everyone's reactions on the Saturday ride would be much fun.

Interesting - I never noticed that before. Handlebar (and possibly headset) was potentially on the list as a weight reduction thing when doing the upgrade. But the choices in 1" threaded are super limited and after all this work so were my funds. So it got dropped.
But in retrospect the handlebars do seem to be kind of an odd shape and maybe all that black makes it worse. Oh well.

Recently returned to cycling, resurrecting a mid-late 90's Bianchi EL-OS steel bike. Did a significant upgrade (2014 Chorus from 1996 Chorus, wheels, seat/seatpost). I like the looks of the bike 'in chrome' better than the now more carbon/black look. But being old I really needed the wider gearing, somewhat more aero wheels, etc. Have pretty much decided not to go after the fork. I dropped a tad over 3.5 pounds and got it down slightly under 19 pounds - I will live with that.
Before and after below.

I kinda like the bike, but the new chain wheel and crank look clunky and inelegant, like orthopaedic shoes on an otherwise smartly dressed woman. You're not that old, are you?

No mine is the 2015 model. I said it came with the orange seat that I gave to my lbs. Also that in the post I also said our bikes came listed with rs685 brakes but I ended up getting the rs785 brakes instead, is that the same brakes you got?
also 2014 and 2015 are identical frames. The 2014 is not red, it's the same orange and white. They just put on a different seat and group. You can tell because this is the only advanced pro frame that does not say advanced pro on it, even though it is. All their other bikes say advanced pro. Giant ended up not selling many of the 2014, in Canada they just liquidated all the 2014 about a week before the 15's arrived in the showroom. Also the boxed up 14's required the lbs to make the changes to the shifters.
i love di2, all my bikes have it. I refuse to go back to mechanical.

I'm envious of your Di2 set up. What did that set you back? I have never tried electronic, afraid if I did I'd never turn back and spend more $ upgrading my other bike. I think the Di2 is a little heavier (not by much and not that it matters) than mechanical at least according to this...

Update: According to Giant's website, the 2014 is blue/red not blue orange so I think I'm not crazy after all.

Problem is, over the years Bianchi has had many shades of pale blue/turquoise/green that they all call Celeste. If they would just use a standard pantone color everybody's Celeste would be the same, not the hodge podge it is now.

Jeeze, that's a level top-tube.
So much better looking than the sloping top-tube.

I just thought maybe you bought the frame and had shimano added. I haven't seen the 2014 frame in person but every picture I look at online, the accents look red to me not orange or at least a different shade of orange than the 2015.

No no it's the same, take a look at the pic. My lbs had both bikes in stock, there was zero difference.

the cost of the r785 shifters were something like $500 Canadian. My lbs doesn't charge me for any service.
i had the 6770 rd and fd already, but I had chain suck issues. So I've decided to go single chainring and a 6870 rd to finally use the 11 spd.
di2 is slightly a little heavier if you use the external battery. It's because the external bat is twice as heavy as the internal and the battery mount is pretty heavy. If you go internal di2 is lighter then it's mechanical equivalent.
yeah once you try electronic, I doubt you'll very want to go back.
