Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You didn't mention whether or not she let him in.

First ride on the SS Boat Anchor (while pulling the Lead Parachute) since the new gearing. Better, but can still be challenging in the wind. Then again, I was definitely feeling the opposite of @RollCNY 's "second day legs."

We wanted the ceremony to be legal, so we had to jump through the Mexican marital hoops. It was a pain in the ass. Family was initially pissed about the Mexican wedding, but oh well.

Wife was in the room with all the bridesmaids getting ready before the ceremony. She looks out the window and a couple of us are running from the beach with our snorkeling gear. Lost track of time.

The average American wedding costs $30,000. How is this possible?

Stealthy.

I didn't know Giro made shoes. Isn't Giro owned by Easton? I think Easton owns Bell as well.

I think we spent about $3,000. Dress, venue, catering, DJ, cake, decorations, invitations, JOP, and first round of drinks for everyone at the reception. My uncle did the photography so we saved some money there. I bought a new suit, but I wear suits for non-wedding things as well so that doesn't really count. I'm not counting the cost of rings...

I knew Bell and Giro were together, but had no idea on Easton until I searched. That must be why these have Easton CF soles. I was debating custom, but these came up, and they feel great. We'll see.

I really like those Specialized dial closures. I'm not in the market for shoes right now, but I'd probably lean towards those if I was.

It's ridiculous. It should be about you, your spouse, and celebration. I think the family desires/needs should be secondary. And if you're marrying one of those crazy women that agonize about the place settings, that's your fault.

I had a pair Lakes shoes with Boa instead of straps, and didn't care for them.

Did you destroy the old shoes in the crash?

Anyone who spends more on a bicycle crap than on a wedding is out of whack.

There is a definite grind at the sole/upper joint, to the extent that they may compromised. Wrecks are expensive.

At least early on, I know there were a lot of complaints about their boa system. I doubt it's an issue now, but back then it caused me to go with the Pro Road. My next shoes will also be the Pro Road.
