Heck I'm a runner and would be terrified of running 20 miles, but in a few years I'll be able to do it. I think finishing a Marathon means your are in great shape even if you walk the whole thing....

Music takes my mind off what I'm doing. I like it while I run and sometimes when I bike so I can take my mind off the pain and keep going. Plus it can pump you up, which is good.

It also means you need to get a life. I don't care how much your bike cost, just be a crappy rider and say it makes you so much faster.

I stretch before I run and sometimes before I bike. It makes the first part so much easier than if I don't. It lets your muscles move freely instead of being all cramped up.
