Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Example, it requires pressure to spin the cranks back wards and if I to spin the cranks they stop abruptly. As I shift to a bigger cog or even the small ring it gets easier. Thoughts? Something other than don’t pedal backwards RJ.
Do the cranks continue to spin after you take your hands off of them?

2. Head set has play, not significant but I can feel it. I tore it a part and packed it with grease but I can still feel it. Can the fact I have an extra large periscope on top of the stem be the cause of this? I really don’t think I should try tightening it anymore. Bars spin fine.
Might have too much spacer. Maybe only a millimeter.

We got the predicted thunderstorms, and plenty of rain. The air has been so full of dust, from the high speed rail construction, that it needed a good cleaning. My eyes and sinuses will be thankful for a few days.

I've mentioned this before, but my Dad worked for the same fruit processing/canning company from 1946 till he retired, except for 3 or so years when he was working with a buddy at a tech startup in Rochester NY. Anyway, Dad LOVED pie, and so he took frequent advantage of the low prices in the company commissary. One year my Grandmother (Mom's Mom) bet him that she could make him tired of pie. She made a pie every night for, I think, 10 days before she admitted defeat.

It’s really windy and tomorrow morning they are calling for sustained winds of 20MPH and gusts to 40.

I chose to cancel my ride and will do the Tour of Watopia instead.

If I spin the wheel backwards the cranks move backwards, If I try and spin the cranks backwards and let go they stop almost instantly.

Reminds me of that device you plug into your car's OBD connector and it tells you what's wrong with the car. The ad says "Mechanics hate this thing" as if it's going to render them useless, or redundant.

Good luck with that.

The next generation of Internet MD will be lit. Type in your symptoms and the robot goes to work. Combine with wearable devices, and occasional poke at the testing center, and why would you need to see the doctor again?

Can't believe I'm saying this. I'm with V.V. on the pie issue. I'm not a fan. I think it's a texture thing. I love pie crust. But there's just way too much hoing on with the filling.

correct - HG93 is not a directional chain

however - Shimano does recommend pin installation based on link direction / link type

( do you have a 9 speed bike ? )

Frankie probably wouldn’t like pie, unless of the gnome variety.

BBQ potato chips, however…
