it's a 2006 Scatantte, A customer returned it because the clearcoat was flaking off.

I refinished it with Eastwood 2k matte clear.

Eh, look below.

After a stupid UPS snafu, my 2016 Kilo TT Pro finally arrived. I just finished putting it together and taking it for a spin around the block.

http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/...psmzrtfwuq.jpg

It's pretty darned stock except for a Surly 17t cog, an All-City lockring, and a set of Suntour Cyclone pedals with no-name metal clips and leather straps. Oh, and the bottle cage.

I plan to replace the pedals with the Power Grips Deluxe pedals and straps (yes, I know: boo, hiss, but I love Power Grips and have never had a problem with them ever), a riser bar, a different saddle (because that Kilo TT saddle - while cool looking - is an ass shredder) and a serious clean-up of the steerer-tube/stem situation.

Rides like a dream, just like my old Kilo TT I sold a few years back. :)

Thanks. 2 years ago I refinished the frame, and built it up with 6800 Ultegra and lower end components. For 2 years I used it as my primary road bike, and must admit that it's a very comfortable frameset. A little heavier than newer frames, but at 1050g (61cm) for 2006 technology, it isn't a pig.

The before shot.

That is a really sharp looking bike, especially for stock. You have those nice Suntour pedals and you're not gonna use them? Boo, hiss. indeed.

Thank you! I was originally going to get a white Stripper, but I think the Pro does generally look better. Plus you get the better wheels and cranks.

I know, I know, heh. My feet are very long, so regular clips tend to not work well for me. The Power Grips are much better for me.

Buils a road bike and the first thing he does is take it to the rocks/grass/dirt/gravel.

LoL

lol ive actually had this bike before i had any mtbs, this is just one of several iterations of it. ive ridden this bike on the same singletrack where i ride my mtb

it is definitely interesting though, bike weighs like 6 pounds and goes just looking at it. it feels like im cheating

i was surprised at how much fixed felt like "home" though, despite it being like 4 years since ive ridden one

Unkle Rico 07-06-16 08:55 PM

Looks spinny, no? Whats that front ring, 42?

Mumonkan 07-07-16 04:55 AM

40 actually, 16 in the back

it was either 65 gi or 75 and since i havent been on a tarck bike in a long time i figured lets err on the side of caution. feels perfect though really

Wspsux 07-07-16 07:08 AM

@Mumonkan , wasn't that the frame of your dope ass 650 rando/gravel machine? Also, how tall are you and what size frame do you ride of the 80's vintage? I have a feeling we may be about the same size and I'm looking into old italian frames and don't really know where to start size wise. I'm 5'10 and mostly torso.

yup. 650b wheelies are in coloRADo waiting for Unkle Rico to get rad

size & proportions = same. this bike has 53 st / 55 tt and fits pretty much perfect. just compare tt length to current bikes and go from there. for the most part the st/tt lengths will be square on that era of bikes
